Once was great,now very poor
I’ve been with weebly for over 7 years and found my website easy to set up and their support team was amazing. When Square took over it immediately started going downhill. For instance I no longer received notifications of blog comments either by email or through the app. I kept being locked out of my site when I wanted to check traffic or sales. After about an hours frustration today I managed to open my site for editing but I could not view any activity data - if it still exists. It is now a very frustrating and clunky app to use - why did square have to meddle with a such a good product and ruin it?
An app that doesn’t do anything? That’s right!
This app does not let you edit your site.
It is, essentially, useless. I don’t know why the company paid someone to build it. It does have one useful feature, though, so read on...
Weebly on mobile is awful (no working undo option, drag and drop is random, scrolling needs to be so precise, or you end up moving an image (that you can’t move back!) or completely deleting some text. It is immensely frustrating, as nine times out of ten, what you try to do fails, and causes your page to be worse than before.
This is where the app comes in. You can’t make your pages worse with the app, because it doesn’t let you do anything. You can’t edit text, so no worries there! You can delete images, but doing that accidentally is pretty difficult. Same with moving them. Scrolling works fine, but is only useful if you want to view some of your site without editing it. And there is now sidebar with page edit options or tools, so you have no problem with accidentally adding something to your page that you don’t want.
This app is so minimalistic, that it is the perfect solution to the horrible mobile browser experience: your expectations become so low, that frustration is not on the cards.
Well done, Weebly, for making the most pointless app I have ever downloaded. It is even less useful than the app that helps you cut your bread evenly.
Easy to use
I was Looking for a platform that was easy to use and also integrated with my payment platform (Square), it also needed to be affordable for a start up.
Weebly seem to be the perfect fit, it was only after I made my decision I found out that it was part of Square .
There’s a 7 step guide you can follow that makes getting your site up and running in hours.
There are a few things I would have liked to see, being able to use multiple photos for your items and adding a separate photo to your logo to your header or footer, otherwise it works well from Laptop to Phone.
If you have one item or hundreds whether your inline only or have numerous outlets such as markets or pop up locations Weebly will work for you.
I have no hesitation in recommending this platform.
