Withings Health Mate 4+

After update in April 2022 data occasionally do not transfer to iPhone application and I have to manually put it in the application. Also the Withings scale sometimes display the selected info and sometimes parameters that I never selected, e.g. water content rather than fat %. Export from Fitbit to Withings does not work My rating is for the application, the scales are very accurate and reliable.
After discussing my problems with developer and recent update, application worked fine. Thanks for excellent support.

New app update on 23 May 2023 did not work. Next update made it functional, however I still had many problems. Help and support from Withings was just outstanding! It took long time and eventually they helped to resolve my problems. 5 stars for their support! Many thanks to Edison who patiently helped me!
There is still a small glitch that hopefully will be fixed soon.

App is incredibly noisy, in terms of distractions and unasked for stuff. Everyone is doing it, like most apps these days and software, even my car. Being able to tune it for exactly what you want easily is going to be a huge differentiator when some steps up and listens to a customer. Withings basically repeats most of the apple health info, so being able to screw it down to only show exactly what you want would deliver a star. Bottomline keep sales and marketing out of the operational product. I already bought it and the spurious notion that annoying the heck out of me with unsolicited rubbish will encourage me to buy more is wrong.
Secondly, just bought the new scales with a handle. Usage instructions while to the point, are not as specific as they need to be. My feet are longer than the electrode sensors on the scale. If i keep my toes behind the sensor as per the instructions my heels are off the back. Like wise if I try and centre my feet I get totally different reading. The result is shuffling around trying to figure out is giving me drastically different readings, which completely undermines the entire exercise and makes the readings and products useless in top if the fact we all realise the readings even when done consistently are at best an estimate. Getting that right and clear would deliver another star, boom then it would be 5/5, but it is not that now.

Everytime there is an app update it breaks the connection to the scales. It doesnt sync. Sometimes it has the X after the weight is given showing it wont send the data (meanwhile it was working previous day before update). And other times it doesnt show the X so assuming it gets sent but then it doesnt! So I try and remember the number and bodyfat.. then the app is laggy and delayed in adding the MANUAL number, which isnt easy to find by the way. I can add the weight but cant add the body fat. Make a mistake in the weight? Well trying to delete is fun too. You delete it but it still appears in the main screens and charts, when it shouldnt be there. Honestly they never should update this app it breaks every time, developers have a poor job in integration testing and before production release. It’s really not rock science (im in the same field). In this day and age we can make amazing things like cars with tech… but yet we still can’t master simple weighing scales to send data to a phone. How ironic. Yes i’ve contacted support, but they give you the usual transcript and they dont have full understanding of how the technology works and its always a simple “have you tried turning it off and on” “have you dissociated the product” “have you done factory reset” blah blah blah. It’s just a cover up for bad developing.
