Youper uses effective tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Positive Psychology to help improve your mood.

A study from Stanford University showed significant improvement in symptoms of depression and anxiety after just two weeks of using Youper.


Youper is your private space to capture and reflect on your moments, both positive and negative. Based on your input, Youper will ask questions, learn what works for you, and create a personalized strategy to help you understand and change your thoughts and feelings.

You can follow the recommendations or choose from a variety of exercises:

• Mood tracker: track your mood with quick check-ins.
• Mood insights: understand your emotions and what makes you happy.
• Journal: organize your thoughts in a private thought diary.
• Therapy exercises: use cognitive behavioral and other therapy techniques to overcome stress, anxiety, and depression.
• Gratitude: remember positive experiences.
• Personality test: discover your personality and understand what makes you tick.
• Habit tracker: set goals and celebrate wins as you build healthier habits.
• Mindfulness: practice mindfulness to calm down and increase focus.
• Breathing: be guided through breathing exercises to relax instantly.
• Sleep sounds: fall asleep faster using calming sounds to help you relax at bedtime.
• Symptom tracker: gain insights on anxiety, depression, and other mental health symptoms.
• Apple Health integration: track mindful moments and sessions with Apple Health.


All core features are entirely free to use. Premium features are available with a subscription. The subscription will automatically renew unless turned off in your iTunes Account Settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can cancel your subscription anytime when you feel the Premium plan is not what you need.

Extremely helpful

This app has been extremely helpful in helping me to track and recognise my thought patterns and help me to feel better when I feel down. It is surprisingly helpful considering it is all automated, and I really appreciate having it. I would definitely recommend this app to everything, but in particular those who would like to do counselling but can’t access it, or for in between counselling sessions to help you feel better. This app allows you to recognise and understand your emotions, and track what in your life is making you feel better or worse, which you can then use for self-care and cheering yourself up.
I would defiantly recommend this to everyone, as it can also act as a kind of diary to help you rant and track when you’re feeling good or bad. I use it as a kind of diary for both when I’m feeling good and bad, and it’s really helpful as I can also write down all my thoughts and help myself express and clear up everything in my head. It can help you become more clearheaded when you’re upset, and maintain good feelings when you’re happy. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
The only downside is that you can only record one emotion at a time, however, you could just write multiple entries to track each emotion you’re feeling.
I would highly recommend this, and if you’re considering getting it or getting counselling, or even just want a safe space to rant, it’s extremely useful and I would recommend trying it out.

First app I subscribed without trying premium features

The idea behind this app sounded like having a great potential to improve wellbeing of us all. I believe that sharing information can have a powerful impact on understanding the collective experience of us all livings in this universe. That’s why I subscribed to Youper and joined their research. After using premium I am satisfied with the features. I am a regular meditator and mindfulness practitioner. It’s a great platform to keep track of your own wellbeing and comfortable space to take notes. Keep in mind Youper doesn’t have huge range of meditation audios etc. in case this is something you are looking for. I recommend Youper to people who would like to take care of their wellbeing by tracking their emotional states aiming to better understand the reasons behind those emotions and become more mindful over time through this process. One can use Youper as a journal of wellbeing that analyses and provides insights with scientific knowledge based assistant.

It’s worth upgrading

As soon as I downloaded the app I could see it was like nothing I’ve used before. It was very simple and comforting as well as a place to vent and be listened to without judgement. I’ve only had it for a day where anxiety wasn’t very good and doing mindfulness and gratitude helped me out. I immediately upgraded to a year seeing as in that time i was feeling better and nothing before then had worked for me. It costs less for a year than one therapy session! I just can’t recommend this enough. It helps out with any mental health issue as well as staying physically healthy and setting and reaching any type of goal. I can’t wait to use this app more.
