You’ll need to think carefully about the units you enlist to join your quest. Whether it’s groups of highly trained soldiers, warrior monks or supernatural creatures such as Manticores, Dragons and Demons, you have to consider their respective strengths and weaknesses.

Selecting the right battle formation is important too: clever deployment of the cavalry, for example, creates a flanking motion that can cause carnage as you sneak in behind the opposition. But your strategy needs to be very different if you’re capturing a castle.
