more Fixes and improvements:
• The Live radar card on the home screen now shows the European radar picture for places outside Croatia, instead of an empty map.
• Place, country and sea names are no longer drawn over satellite images, so the picture is easier to read. The names come back as soon as you switch back to the radar.
• Precipitation (radar), daily view: a finished day could still show the picture from while it was being calculated, with too little rain. The final picture is now always shown.
• Location: the app follows your location only while it is open, and now stops that itself as soon as you close it or switch away. On some phones this cuts down battery warnings.
3.7.1 12 Oct
EXPANDED RADAR COVERAGE (new)
The radar is no longer Croatia only. The HR and EUR buttons switch the view: HR as before with a short-term forecast; EUR covers most of central Europe, from Sicily to the Baltic, with almost 50 radars.
• New setting: radar location markers can be switched off.
SATELLITE (new)
The SAT button shows the last two hours of Meteosat satellite images across the whole map.
• Free: GeoColour, natural colours by day and city lights at night.
• Premium: seven more products, including air masses, convection, fog, dust and snow.
RAIN/SNOW PARTITIONING ON THE RADAR (new)
The Snow layer colours the radar by precipitation type: red for rain, purple for mixed, blue for snow. The type is a best estimate from a numerical model, the same calculation as the snow probability in the forecast table.
THREE NEW LANGUAGES
The app is now also available in Italian, German and Hungarian.
REGIONAL MAP
The map on the home screen follows the selected place. Croatia and its neighbours keep the familiar map; places in Italy, Austria, Hungary and beyond get a map of their own area.
FAQ
The FAQ now answers questions about the European radar, satellite, precipitation type and the route forecast.
3.7 6 Oct
Fixes:
• A notification sent to several of your regions now appears once in the list, naming all of them.
• Radar: the data source credit no longer overlaps the time while the loop is playing.
• Route forecast: the free version now shows the waypoint spacing it actually uses (50 km).
3.6.1 11 Sept
ROUTE FORECAST (new)
Pick a start, a destination and a departure time. The app works out where you will be and when, then forecasts each waypoint for the moment you actually reach it.
• Free: up to 5 waypoints. A long route is never refused, only sampled more coarsely.
• Premium: waypoints down to every 5 km, and a check for poor conditions along the whole route.
SEA LEVEL (new)
Coastal locations now get an hourly sea level forecast, in the table and on the graphs. It carries both the astronomical tide and the meteorological contribution, so you can see whether the sea is standing above or below its long-term mean.
PREMIUM
• New Premium benefit: denser waypoints and the hazard check in the route forecast.
RADAR
• Shorter playback panel to allow for more map on screen.
• Manual refresh for the imagery is now possible.
• Display is clearer about when the data is running late.
FORECAST
• Saved locations are offered when you change location.
• New setting: reopen on the location you were last looking at.
FIXES
• The forecast recovers on its own after losing connection, and says plainly when you are offline.
• The table no longer latches into an error; retry works without restarting the app.
• The home screen no longer reshuffles itself while it opens.
• Minor fixes throughout the app
3.6.0 3 Sept
• The Premium and sign-in screens can now be closed; no more getting stuck.
• The menu has a close button.
• Data refreshes when you return to the app.
• Radar precipitation and lightning now say when data is unavailable, instead of looking like nothing was recorded.
• Fixed legend colours in dark mode.
• Signing out now correctly stops the previous account’s notifications.
Recently added: Simple and Pro modes, FAQ, precipitation page and convective outlook, a cleaner radar map, and sign-in with Google and Apple.
3.5.3 11 Aug
• Fixed: your Premium subscription now links to your account automatically and works on meteoadriatic.net too.
• Minor fixes and stability improvements.
Recently added: Simple and Pro modes, FAQ, precipitation page and convective outlook, a cleaner radar map, and sign-in with Google and Apple.
3.5.1 6 Aug
This release adds a mode for anyone who wants a simpler app, two new screens, and a good deal of polish.
APP MODE
• Simple mode keeps the essentials: forecast, radar and notifications. Advanced plots, extra table columns, the radar analysis suite, convection and maps are hidden.
• Pro mode stays exactly as it was. Switch in Settings; your settings are untouched when you switch back.
NEW SCREENS
• Convection: the convective outlook on the regional map. Yellow areas mark where thunderstorms are possible or likely in 6-hour periods, and the Level 1 to 3 lines mark an increasing chance of organised or stronger storms.
• Precipitation (radar): a radar estimate of fallen precipitation by hour and by day, in the menu under "Precipitation (radar)".
• Frequently asked questions: answers about the forecast, radar, notifications and Premium, in the menu.
RADAR
• Analysis button on the map: one tap hides every analysis layer, another brings them back.
• When zoomed out, the app thins the markers of weaker cells on its own, so the picture stays readable.
• The coastline and borders now draw above the echo, so they stay legible even over strong returns.
PLOTS
• Plots now follow both of your unit settings, for wind and for temperature.
• Every plot is aligned with the others, so the same hour sits at the same place in each.
• Faint gridlines every 3 hours in single-day view.
NOTIFICATIONS
• On Android you can pick the sound separately for region notifications and for forecast and storm notifications, under Notification settings.
• A red dot on the menu when something new arrives.
• Past events collapse, so the list stays short.
ACCOUNT
• You can sign in three ways: Google, Apple (iPhone and iPad), or an email address and password. Signing in is optional and the app works fully without it.
• Premium can be bought in the app or on the meteoadriatic.net portal. Signed in with the same account, it counts in both places.
ALSO
• Refreshed switches, privacy policy and terms of service.
• Small fixes and polish.
