Know where you're going before you get there. Open your ticket and tap Explore to see the most popular places in the town you're travelling to: where to stay, eat, go out and sightsee, plus ATMs and pharmacies. Each place shows its rating, whether it's open now, and buttons for directions and calling. You can also ask Kondakita, "Where should I eat in Mbarara?" Safe travels.

Buying a ticket works again. Tapping Pay could leave you watching a spinner that never finished, and the payment was never actually started. That is fixed, and the wait now sits in the button itself so you can always tell what the app is doing. If we cannot look up your mobile money name quickly, we stop waiting and let you carry on instead of hanging. The confirmation screen is tidier too: your name and the amount line up properly, so there is no doubt about what you are approving before you pay. Kondakita's answers are easier to read when it gives you a list, and the ticket type buttons respond to your touch again. Safe travels.

Kondakita is faster and steadier. The assistant now talks to our own servers instead of connecting out from your phone. That removes the step that was stopping it from answering for some travellers, and means fewer interruptions when your connection is weak. If something does go wrong, the message carries a short code so our support team can tell exactly what happened from a single screenshot. Safe travels.

Kondakita is back. A problem with the security check that proves the app is genuine was stopping Kondakita from answering. Everything else — booking, payments, tickets — kept working, which is why the assistant looked broken on its own. That check is now fixed, and if it is ever briefly unavailable Kondakita retries instead of giving up. When something does go wrong, the message now carries a short code so our support team can tell exactly what happened from a single screenshot. Thank you for your patience, and safe travels.

Meet Kondakita — your travel companion, built into Bus Stop. Ask for a bus in plain words and Kondakita finds it, tells you when it leaves and what a seat costs, then books and pays for your ticket by Mobile Money without leaving the chat. Before any money moves, Kondakita shows you the Mobile Money account name it found, the number and the amount, and waits for you to tap Confirm. Ask where your bus has reached. Ask where to eat along the way. Kondakita speaks Luganda, Runyankore, Acholi, Ateso, Kinyarwanda, Kiswahili, and English.

• You can now leave the payment screen while a mobile money request is still waiting for your approval, and carry on browsing trips and tickets. Your payment finishes on its own and the tickets appear in your Wallet. • If you try to pay for another trip while an earlier request is still unapproved on your phone, Bus Stop now warns you first, so you are not charged twice for the same journey. • Fixed a problem where the payment screen could appear to freeze when you tried to go back.

Know how long the trip takes, and when you will get there. - Trip search and the trip you select now show the scheduled journey time, so you can see how long the ride is before you pay. - Your ticket shows the estimated arrival time, and counts down to it once the bus is on the road. Times come from the schedule published by the bus company.

Bus Stop 2.0 — a brand-new look. • Book faster: choose your trip and pay in a couple of taps • Sign in securely with your phone number and a one-time code • A new Wallet keeps all your tickets in one place with a scannable QR code • Trip reminders: we'll notify you the day before and again shortly before departure, so you're never late for your bus • Mobile Money payments with an instant SMS ticket link • Refreshed, easy-on-the-eyes design throughout
