A few Easter eggs are hidden in the game, and a new Collection section shows how many you've found. Hint: the newspaper can do more than it seems, and mosquitoes can't resist a thin, high-pitched whine. Finding them unlocks hidden Game Center achievements. Holidays. On Halloween and New Year's the insects dress up, and on April 1st a hunter had better stay alert. More stories. A hundred new stories about misses, plus special anniversary issues of the newspaper. Rolled-up newspaper. After every tenth catch, your swatter turns into a newspaper — for exactly one swing. Hit, and The Buzz Gazette unfolds across the screen with a story about the insect you got; miss, and the story is about the hapless hunter. Dozens of different stories, and the hunt pauses while you read. Send your favorite issue to friends with the Share button. Yo-yo. Sometimes a yo-yo lands in your hand instead of the swatter: five throws that reach an insect at any distance — no need to get closer. Fireflies are easier to find. Total darkness is no longer needed: point the camera into a shadow or dim the lights, and the glow will drift in. Quest reminders. Tap the bell on the Today's Quests card, and the game will remind you in the evening about quests you haven't finished. All done? No reminder. Also: the game now shows ads — only between hunts, never during one. If you like, a short video will double your score or lure a Golden Mosquito in Collect mode. Plus small fixes.

Firefly — a new species. Switch off the lights: a pale green glow drifts across the dark room. It flies slow and smooth, flickering in time with its own light, and it never flees — when spooked it simply goes dark and dissolves into the night. Catch one to unlock the Lantern Catcher achievement. Share your result. Unlock an achievement or beat a personal best, then tap Share: the game draws a card with your result and a challenge for your friends. Privacy in plain sight. A new Privacy screen in the menu: the camera and microphone still never leave your device, and anonymous statistics can be switched off with a single toggle. Also: a living background in the main menu, tidier layout on narrow screens, and small fixes.
