Tangent Golf: GPS Shot Tracker
Strokes Gained Caddie Strategy
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Finally an app that connects practice to play. Connect your launch monitor and train your caddie for better insights on the course.
Lower your scores without changing your swing.
Tangent tracks every shot automatically. No sensors, no club tags, no pulling out your phone. Then shows you exactly where you’re losing strokes and what to practice next.
Your first two fully featured rounds are free.
TRACK EVERY SHOT, HANDS FREE
Automatic swing detection on Apple Watch captures each shot as you play. No sensors to screw into your grips. No stopping to log anything. Leave your phone in the cart and go play golf.
No Apple Watch? No problem. Tangent uses sensor data from your phone to make predictions as to where you hit shots. Simply enter scores after the hole or the round and watch Tangent convert scores to shots.
A SMART CADDIE THAT KNOWS YOUR MISS
Before every shot, Tangent recommends a club and target based on thousands of simulations using your real distances and dispersions. Not your best drives, the ones you actually hit on the golf course. Taking into account trouble, like water, bunkers, trees, wind and elevation… then picking the target that produces your lowest expected score.
STROKES GAINED THAT ACTUALLY MEANS SOMETHING
See where your strokes go across driving, approach, short game, and putting. Benchmark against any level from tour pro to 25 handicap, men or women. Then go deeper with breakouts by club, by lie, and more.
THE PART OTHER APPS SKIP: WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT
Stats tell you that you’re bad at wedges. Tangent tells you how to fix it. Every round ends with a report: here’s what you shot, here’s what you could have shot, here’s the biggest leak, and here’s how to improve it faster.
PRACTICE IS BUILT IN - CONNECT YOUR LAUNCH MONITOR
Range not translating to the course? Tangent has practice and drills built in. Connect your launch monitor for hands free drills that track your practice and make it more meaningful. Focused practice gives faster results.
GPS AND COURSE DETAIL
40,000+ courses with accurate yardages to greens, hazards, and layups. Green maps to read your breaks. Elevation built in. Works with or without an Apple Watch anywhere in the world.
BETTER WITH FRIENDS
Follow your group, compare rounds, and keep score for players who don’t use Tangent.
BUILT BY A GOLFER WHO USED IT TO GET BETTER
Tangent’s founder went from a 6 handicap to a +1 using the exact methodology in this app. Active golfers improve their handicap by 30% in the first year.
Start with two fully unlocked free rounds. No sensors required.
Let's improve together.
