LaparoscopiX is a medical education software application designed to operate in tandem with our laparoscopic box trainer. This comprehensive toolset offers a structured curriculum aimed at cultivating fundamental laparoscopic surgery skills such as peg transfer, ligating loop, intracorporeal knot, extracorporeal knot, and precision cutting. Beyond foundational proficiency, the platform extends its capabilities to include advanced modules featuring realistic simulations of complete obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and general surgery procedures. The ARISE system allows medical residents in training to record videos of themselves performing key laparoscopic skills through our box trainer, which can then be submitted to mentors for review through the LaparoscopiX app. Each trainee has a cross-institutional network of multiple mentors, each of whom provides extensive personalized feedback, enabling trainees to continuously hone their skills. By combining technology and educational methodology through an asynchronous mentor-mentee network, LaparoscopiX is tailored for use in low and middle-income countries, addressing the specific training needs of medical professionals in resource-constrained environments.
