Bug fixes • Online indicators for guest accounts were in bad shape — that is, they weren't displaying their correct shapes (squares and triangles), defaulting instead to the familiar circle. We've quite literally squared the circle on this one, returning guest indicators to their proper geometric glory. • The mobile emoji picker wasn't taking into account your most frequently-used emoji on desktop, so if your favorite handshake reaction wasn't making the handoff to mobile, that one was on us. We promise not to let that happen again. Shake on it? • Different skin tones of the same emoji will once again be grouped together when reacting to a message. No matter our complexion, we're all one human family, even when represented as cartoon pictographs.

Bug fixes • The filter option within the DMs tab was doing... nothing. It was ornamental, vestigial, and most definitely broken. We've filtered the offending code right out, and DMs are now A-OK. • Did you know you can send emails to a Slack channel? Pretty neat, huh? Did you also know that forwarding that message to a different channel within Slack would change your avatar to that of a bot and/or app? Notably less neat, we contend. Slack: Now with fewer identity crises. • Launching the app by tapping on a notification banner would sometimes cause channel headers and the "Back" button to be conspicuously absent. There are few things in life from which there is truly no return; go forth in Slack and know that you can always retrace your steps. • When two users had the same display name, we weren't showing their full names alongside in autocomplete menus. This gave the act of tagging someone in a message the same thrilling anxiety as greeting a person whose name you're only 50% sure you remember. Bug fixes • Shooting stars may be ephemeral, but starred conversations in Slack are forever — at least that was the buggy behavior folks experienced when they found they could not un-star channels and DMs on mobile. We thank our lucky stars (not to mention our mobile engineers) for this bug fix. • The "[Name] is typing..." indicator was not appearing within threads. Please take this message as indication that the bug has been fixed.

Bug fixes • Apple VoiceOver was not able to select buttons anywhere in Slack outside of threads. Like your favorite cardigan, buttons and threads will, at times, be in need of repair. Here's a cozy thought: This bug has been all sewn up and tied off. • We dropped the ball on dropdown arrows, which were hovering awkwardly in the center of the screen instead of sitting politely on the side. The next time you need to expand a menu, you'll find the tappable button right where you expect it to be. • Dropdown menus were also not selecting the default value if you just pressed "Submit" without choosing anything. Perhaps it's a good reminder to always be intentional in our individual choices? Eh, probably just a bug. Our bad.

Bug fixes • We tidied the shelves, cleaned the windows and ran a white-gloved finger over every flat surface. Just a little routine maintenance to ensure that everything is shipshape. Full steam ahead!

Bug fixes • Apps built in Slack which included a Number Input block would not, in fact, allow any numbers to be input. It was a real "you had one job" sort of situation for that particular element. The number of bugs in this feature has been updated from 1 to 0.

Bug fixes • Subtasks were not always appearing after copying a list created in Slack. "Don't sweat the small stuff" is a lovely maxim for human beings, but less appropriate for apps in charge of important information. From now on, Slack will sweat all the stuff.

Bug fixes • When was the last time you went through the agonizingly slow, positively painful process of typing in a phone number by hand? We love clickable links here at Slack, but if you've been trying to use the phone field in a list, you probably had to type in the phone number one digit at a time to call it. It's fixed now, which means the only phone number you still need to commit to memory is your mom's. (Hi, mom!)

Bug fixes • We’ve sanded down some rough patches in the app so as to avoid any digital splinters. Did you know that ‘digital splinters’ were a thing? They are now, but they aren’t anything you’ll need to worry about.

What’s new • Threaded replies now display full timestamps (instead of just showing the date). A little mystery can make life more interesting, but we'd argue this wasn't one of those times. Bug fixes • The "Collapse All Images" preference was not reliably performing its stated duties. That is, it was collapsing all images some of the time, and some images all of the time, but not all images all of the time. Rather than adding an asterisk and writing out a bunch of fine print below the feature description, we figured it would just be easier to fix the bug. • On the Notifications screen, the "My Keywords" field was persistently displaying "None," even when keywords had been saved. Key word: "was" (past tense). This bug is now fixed (present tense).

Bug fixes • Is it something in the air? A certain je ne sais quoi that’s hard to put a finger on? The world seems brighter, music sounds sweeter ... what could it be? The Slack app has been updated, and we can neither confirm nor deny that we’re responsible for any lightness that descends upon you.

Bug fixes • If your workspace had a time limit on editing messages, that restriction was also being erroneously applied to your personal DM. Feel free to edit those messages whenever you like — any updates will remain between you and Slackbot. • Speaking of Slackbot, the mobile app wasn't giving you the option to delete Slackbot messages within DMs. We bumped up Slackbot's "obsequiousness" setting so it will reliably make itself scarce upon your command.

Bug fixes • Trying to call an international phone number from a teammate's profile screen was failing unceremoniously. If you'd like to make a call, please update Slack and try again. • In cases where a workspace had been deleted, the workspace icon was lingering in the sidebar, and selecting "Remove Workspace" did nothing. Letting go can be a difficult process — did you know that in some languages there's no word for "goodbye"? Here's hoping we've found the right words to convey that this has been fixed.
