Taking Stock Study
Tracking consumer product use
Free · Designed for iPad
The Taking Stock study is a community-based research project to enhance what is known about the products women use every day and how these products contribute to disparities in health.
The app and this pilot study builds from a foundation of long-term work in women’s health, environmental exposures, and cumulative impacts in South Los Angeles led by Dr. Bhavna Shamasunder in the Urban and Environmental Policy Department at Occidental College and Janette Robinson Flint, Executive Director of Black Women for Wellness (BWW). Additional co-investigators in our study include Dr. Robin Dodson at the Silent Spring Institute, community partner and trained Promotora de Salud (Community Health Worker) Sandy Navarro, Dr. Ami Zota at Milken Institute, School of Public Health at George Washington University, and Dr. Karin Michels at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
