Typecase is a typographer's tool, not just a font list. It turns 100 open-source families into an interactive specimen book you can actually work in — fully offline, with no account, no ads, and nothing to track.
LIVING ANATOMY
Tap any glyph and watch vector callouts spring onto the real letterform: x-height, cap height, aperture, bowl, terminal, baseline, descender. Every label is computed from the font's own metrics — not a static diagram — so you learn how a typeface is actually built. A museum-style metrics panel shows the true vertical proportions in ems.
PAIRING ENGINE
Pick a headline family and a deterministic scoring engine ranks bodies that pair well with it, with a written rationale for each match. Audition the pairing live on real specimen copy before you commit it to a layout.
SIZE WATERFALL
See any family cascade from caption to display sizes in its genuine faces, so you can judge how it reads at the sizes you'll really set it.
CLASSIFICATION ATLAS
Browse all 100 families organized by a proper type taxonomy — humanist sans, geometric sans, grotesque, old-style, transitional, Didone, slab, monospace and more — with designer, foundry and year for each.
BUILT TO BE TRUSTED
Every one of the 213 faces across 100 families is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The full per-family license text and a complete attribution document ship inside the app and are shown on the License screen. Families with a Reserved Font Name are bundled unmodified, as the license requires.
