Zkool

Free · Designed for iPad

Zkool is a multi-account wallet for Zcash designed to support a wide variety of account types and use cases. It is compatible with nearly every major form of Zcash key derivation and wallet structure. Users can create accounts from seed phrases of 12, 18, 21, or 24 words (with optional passwords), or from other formats including: Unified Viewing Keys (UVKs), whether complete or partial Legacy shielded extended keys (secret or viewing keys from zcashd) Transparent keys, such as xpub/xprv (compatible with Electrum and BIP-32 wallets) BIP-44 derived seed phrases (used by Exodus, Ledger, and other transparent wallets) Transparent secret keys exported from other wallets Existing Ywallet accounts Zkool is designed to manage each account independently. Each has its own synchronization state and can be included or excluded from global sync. This allows users to "park" unused accounts—disabling them to avoid sync delays—then re-enable and update them later as needed. Furthermore, Zkool allows exporting individual accounts (including all associated data like notes, spends, and witnesses) to encrypted files, which can be reimported into another wallet. Entire wallet files can also be encrypted for security. Functionally, Zkool matches the shielded capabilities of Ywallet. It minimizes cross-pool usage, supports user selection of pools, and enables multi-recipient payments. It also offers improved privacy strategies for transparent funds without forcing auto-shielding. Instead of requiring shielding (as seen in other wallets like Zashi or Zingo), Zkool enables address rotation to mitigate privacy risks for transparent addresses. However, Zkool does have limitations. Its user interface is minimal and basic—functional but not visually polished. While easy to understand, it lacks many modern features found in other wallets. Missing elements include: No address book (due to the complex nature of diversified Zcash addresses) No integrated key management tool No market data charts No option to change the reference currency (fixed to USD) No tool for manually transferring between shielded and transparent pools No third-party swap service integrations No expense tracking features No automatic shielding of funds Overall, Zkool is a technically robust and flexible wallet for Zcash power users who need advanced account support and privacy management, though it sacrifices user interface sophistication and convenience features in favor of core functionality.
