La compagnie Thai Airways est souvent considérée comme une compagnie aérienne sûre et offrant un confort supérieur par rapport à d'autres compagnies. Cependant, sa gestion des crises laisse à désirer. Lors de la grève des contrôleurs aériens survenue le 13 février à Bruxelles, la compagnie a abandonné ses passagers à leur sort. Les voyageurs concernés ont été contraints de rester à Bruxelles pendant quatre jours supplémentaires sans aucune compensation ni proposition de solution alternative, telle que l'affrètement d'un avion supplémentaire pour leur permettre de rejoindre leurs lieux de vacances. Une telle situation est scandaleuse et inacceptable pour une compagnie de cette stature.
