Ik wil rustig in de bib studeren en mijn gsm thuislaten om zo minder afgeleid te zijn. Maar nu ik mijn gsm nodig heb om op toledo te kunnen, gaat dat niet meer.

As a university student, I am compelled to express my frustration regarding the unnecessary requirement of an authenticator app for logging into my student account. Not only is it distracting to have to keep my phone with me at all times while studying, but it is equally infuriating that the app doesn't keep me logged in when I close the site.

One of the primary reasons for using an authenticator app is to enhance security, but it should not come at the cost of convenience and efficiency. The constant need to reauthenticate myself whenever I close the site or take a break significantly disrupts my workflow. Instead of seamlessly resuming my studies, I am forced to go through the entire login process repeatedly. This not only wastes precious time but also hampers the continuity of my work.

As a student, I often switch between multiple tabs and applications while studying. Having to re-enter my login credentials and deal with the authenticator app every time I return to the student portal is a needless and tedious exercise. It adds an extra layer of complexity to my academic routine, which should ideally be streamlined and focused on learning.

Moreover, constantly keeping my phone nearby for the sole purpose of using the authenticator app is impractical. When studying, it is essential to eliminate distractions and create an environment conducive to concentration. Having to deal with frequent notifications from the app breaks my concentration and disrupts the flow of my work. It is counterproductive and defeats the purpose of studying efficiently.

I strongly urge the university's IT department to reconsider the implementation of the authenticator app for student account logins. While security is important, it should be balanced with usability and user experience. Please explore alternatives that allow for seamless logins and do not require the constant use of a separate device. Additionally, addressing the issue of automatically logging out when closing the site would greatly alleviate the inconvenience faced by students.

University life is already demanding, and we should strive to create an environment that supports our academic pursuits. Let's prioritize the needs of students and work towards a login system that respects our time, minimizes distractions, and ensures a smooth studying experience.
