TOPIK Note
Korean Exam Vocabulary Quizzes
Free · In-App Purchases
32 new TOPIK II grammar patterns, 4 more past exams, and word cards that show where each word appeared on the test.
You already know you want to pass TOPIK. The real question is how — without burning study time on words that won't move your score, or losing a week to reviews you didn't need.
TOPIK Note sorts 9,000+ Korean words by exact TOPIK level and schedules your reviews for you, so every minute goes to the words that count. Study what matters, when it matters.
The app remembers what you know and what you don't. SM-2 spaced repetition (8-stage intervals) tracks every answer and adjusts your schedule automatically. Hard words come back sooner. Words you've nailed space out further — so you're never drilling something you already own.
FOUR WAYS TO LEARN EACH WORD
• See the Korean word, pick the meaning
• See the meaning, pick the Korean word
• Fill in the missing word in a sentence
• Read a Korean sentence and choose what it means
Same word, four angles. By the time it sticks, you can use it in context — not just spot it on a flashcard. With 36,000+ quizzes, you won't run out.
HEAR EVERY WORD
Tap the speaker on any word or example sentence to hear how it's pronounced. Reading Korean is half the work — knowing how it sounds is the other half.
MADE BY KOREANS, REVIEWED BY KOREANS
Every definition and example is written and checked by native Koreans — no clumsy machine translations to unlearn later.
EVERY TOPIK LEVEL, ONE APP
• Beginner (Level 1–2) — foundational words
• Intermediate (Level 3–4) — everyday and compound words
• Advanced (Level 5–6) — academic and nuanced vocabulary
Pick your level. Switch anytime. The app adapts to your pace.
GRAMMAR BUILT ON WORDS YOU ALREADY KNOW
210 TOPIK grammar points — from beginner particles to advanced connectives (79 beginner, 94 intermediate, 37 advanced). Every example sentence is built from vocabulary you've already studied, so a grammar point arrives as a sentence you can actually say, not a rule to memorize.
• Fill-in-the-blank, conjugation, and meaning quizzes for every point
• Spot a grammar pattern inside any word's example sentence and tap straight through to its explanation
• Reviews are scheduled the same way as vocabulary — the grammar you keep missing comes back sooner
PRACTICE REAL TOPIK EXAMS
Vocabulary gets you ready. Past exams tell you if you're ready.
• 1,700+ real TOPIK I & II questions pulled from 21 past exam papers — 878 reading and 850 listening
• Listening questions play the original exam audio. Answer first, then read the full transcript to see exactly what you missed
• Submit your answer, then read an explanation that walks you through the correct choice — available in English, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)
• "My answered questions" keeps everything you've tried, sorted by wrong and right, so you can drill your weak spots
• Exam stats: overall accuracy, separate TOPIK I and II progress, a 30-day trend, and a breakdown by question type
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
A stats dashboard that earns its space:
• Daily study streak
• Accuracy across each quiz type and TOPIK level
• Wrong Notes — every word you miss, collected automatically so you can target your weak spots
No vanity metrics. Just signals for where to focus next.
STUDY ON YOUR TERMS
Bookmark words you want to revisit. Set a daily reminder — even five minutes a day compounds over weeks.
YOUR LANGUAGE, YOUR INTERFACE
App interface in English, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Word definitions in all of those plus Korean. The Korean stays Korean — only the explanations change.
You've decided to learn Korean. TOPIK Note makes sure your time goes to the right words, in the right order.

• How words change, at a glance — At the bottom of Grammar, "How words change — all patterns" lines up 13 rules side by side, with tables for present, past, future, and noun forms.
• Look up grammar you've learned — Tap any grammar you've learned, on your path or in All grammar, to open its quick reference. Meaning questions now highlight the grammar they ask about.
• 4 new past exams — TOPIK I 96 and 102, TOPIK II 91, and TOPIK II 37 reading, with listening scripts and explanations: 24 tests and 2,014 questions in all. We also checked older tests against the original papers and fixed 211 errors.

• 295 new word pictures — 295 more words now have an illustration.
• More accurate words — 82 new cards split words that sound the same, like 경기 (match) and 경기 (economy), so tapping a word in an example opens the right one. We also fixed meanings, examples, and translations on over 1,000 cards.
5.13.0 10 hr ago
• New listening quiz — Hear a word and pick its meaning. It shows up in word sessions after your first few lessons. In Settings → Quiz types, you can turn each quiz type on or off.
• Retry, jump, or skip in past exams — Redo a finished round from the start, tap an unsolved number on the answer sheet to start there, or skip a question for now.
• Pronunciation that plays your way — Auto-play pronunciation now lets you choose Word pronunciation, Word + example, or Everything, from the question. In Listening, you can set a pause between clips and bookmark the word that's playing.
• Choose your session size — In Settings → New words per session, choose how many new words each session brings. (Premium)
• Turn off vibration — Use the new switch in Settings → Vibration.
• Easier first examples — 349 TOPIK 1–2 words now start with a short, easy example sentence.
• Clearer Hangul — 12 mouth-shape pictures were redrawn, and ㅑ, ㅛ, ㅘ, ㅝ now sound clearer.
• 2027 TOPIK dates — You can set your countdown to a 2027 test. Rounds held only in Korea are marked.
• More accurate words — 보통 now includes "usually", 인도 now includes "sidewalk", and we fixed meanings, translations, and related words that learners reported.
5.12.0 5 days ago
• See the previous card again — In a word session, tap Previous card at the top to look back at the card you just studied. Your answers and progress stay the same.
• Change your learning goal — Go to Settings → General → Learning goal. Your goal doesn't limit what you can study, and changing it keeps your progress.
• A clearer level test and first lesson — Unclear level test questions were replaced, and your result now shows a recommended starting level. In your first lesson, each card starts with one key meaning and example — tap to see the rest.
• Fairer quizzes — We reviewed all 7,825 fill-in-the-blank questions and every grammar blank question, and removed answer choices that could also be correct. 12 words, such as 보통 (ordinary) and 가깝다 (close), now show the right part of speech.
• More accurate words and examples — 싶다 has two new meanings, "think; feel that" (-나 싶다) and "be thinking of doing" (-ㄹ까 싶다), with examples. 그렇다 now shows the right meaning, and 18 more words inside example sentences open when you tap them.
• Smoother studying — The app responds faster while you study.
5.11.0 29 Sept
• Clearer past exam questions — 34 TOPIK II reading questions that ask about "the underlined part" now show the underline, and passages that were cut off are complete again. 83 TOPIK I questions no longer point to a "보기" (example) box that wasn't there, and in 3 sentence-insertion questions the sentence to insert now appears on its own after the passage.
• More accurate word meanings — 주변 (surroundings), 대상 (target), 산소 (oxygen) and 보수 (conservative) now show the meaning used on TOPIK. 연출 (directing) has two new meanings, and tapping 드세요 in examples now opens 드시다 (to eat, honorific). Five words that were listed twice now have a single entry each, and your study history carries over.
• Hanja and pronunciation fixes — 27 more words, such as 불가피 (不可避) and 고속도로 (高速道路), now show their Hanja, and native Korean words like 북 (drum) no longer show the wrong Hanja. Pronunciation audio is fixed for 43 words, such as 까다롭다.
• Faster start, less storage — After an install or update, the app gets ready faster and no longer leaves extra copies of its word database on your phone. Audio also loads more reliably on slow connections.
5.10.0 25 Sept
• Hanja for every language — Word cards now show Hanja (Chinese characters) automatically when your phone's languages include Chinese or Japanese, and you can switch it on or off for any language in Settings → Show Hanja (Chinese characters).
• Leave Korean-only mode from the quiz — If Korean-only answer choices are on, tap "Show translations" right on the quiz to switch back without leaving your session.
• New words and meanings — Added 안 (not), 열 (fever / ten), 가지 (eggplant) and 천 (cloth), plus new senses for 속 (stomach) and 깎다 (to trim). Words like 안 that used to open the wrong entry now open the right one.
• Better word links in examples — Tapping a word inside an example sentence now opens the right entry more often — 손님 (guest) no longer opens 손 (hand), and 불친절 (unfriendly) no longer opens 친절 (kind).
5.9.0 23 Sept
• Listening plays in random order — Your word list now shuffles each time you open Listening, so the words at the end get their turn too. Tap Shuffle on the player to go back to list order. (Premium)
• New words in the order that matters — Study sessions now start with the most common words of your level instead of a random pick from the whole level.
• A cleaner Android — A new floating bottom bar, and Settings now line up the same way across language, theme, text size and playback speed.
• Pick up where you left off — Leave a study session midway and come back the same day: it continues from the card you were on instead of starting over.
• Hear the quiz sentence — Sentence quizzes now have a play button, so you can listen to the whole example read aloud.
• Same spelling, different word — When a word is spelled like another one, such as 쓰다 (bitter) and 쓰다 (write), the card now shows the other word too. Tap it for a quick look.
• Compound vowels, explained — Daily Word now shows how to type compound vowels (ㅗ+ㅏ=ㅘ) and brings the table back as a hint when you get stuck.
5.8.0 14 Sept
• Practice one question type at a time — Open TOPIK I or II and pick a question type (sentence order, main idea, matching a picture) to drill just those questions. Past Exam also suggests your weakest type, with its accuracy, so you know what to work on.
• Every past-exam question now has a full explanation — All 21 tests, TOPIK II included, come with a translation of the passage or the listening script, key vocabulary, and a note on why each choice is right or wrong.
• 512 words straight from past exams — Words from TOPIK II reading passages and listening scripts that the app didn't have yet, each with two example sentences and audio (271 with illustrations).
• Grammar opens on your current lesson — The grammar path now starts with where you are: the lesson, what it teaches in one line, and one button to continue. The full course map is one tap below.
• See which cards are new and which are review — Quiz cards say whether a word is new or a review, and for reviews, when you last missed it. On the home screen, a "Review only" link starts a session with just the words that are due.
• Bigger text — The largest text size in Settings is now bigger, for late-night study without squinting.
• Faster audio, better-matched grammar examples — Word and listening audio loads ahead of time so it plays right away, and grammar quiz sentences now use words from your level.
5.7.0 7 Sept
• Work through real past exams one test at a time — Pick a test (TOPIK 91, say) and take it in exam order: listening first, then reading. Your progress is saved, so you can pick up tomorrow where you left off, and finished tests get a checkmark.
• Your score and answer sheet for every test — Open TOPIK I or II, pick a test, and see your points out of 200, an answer sheet showing exactly which questions you missed, and a list of your incorrect answers to review.
• Full-length mock tests, timed like the real exam — Take a whole test in one sitting with the official time limit and no answers until the end, then see your score, your level (TOPIK I), and an answer sheet. (First mock test free, then Premium.)
• Grammar practice that tests grammar — Every option in a fill-in-the-blank is now real Korean, so you choose by meaning instead of by which one looks right.
5.6.0 4 Sept
• 987 more everyday words — Words that kept appearing in beginner and intermediate example sentences but weren't in the app yet, each with audio and most with a picture.
• Every word now sits on one exact TOPIK level — Intermediate and advanced words used to span two levels. They're now placed on a single level using the National Institute of Korean Language's official list, and Level 4 alone has 1,457 words.
• Deeper explanations for every grammar pattern — "How it feels", "When not to", and "Easy mix-up" now cover all 210 patterns, intermediate and advanced included.
• Tap any word inside grammar — In grammar examples and grammar quizzes, tap a word to see what it means, and the full sentence translation appears once you've answered.
• Finished lessons open a quick reference — Tap a completed grammar lesson to see its pattern, meaning, rule, and examples without redoing the whole lesson.
• Listen to your mistakes — Listening can now play the words in your Mistakes tab, most recent first (Premium).
• Your lists, one tap away — My Wordbook has a Lists tab next to Solved, Mistakes, and Bookmarks.
• Can't read Hangul yet? We start there — Say so during setup and we skip the level test and begin with the 7-day Hangul path.
• Clearer meanings for look-alike words — 250 words that shared one English meaning (생활 and 인생 were both "life") now show distinct meanings so you can tell them apart.
• Mistakes and Bookmarks open faster — Long lists load several times faster.
5.5.0 2 Sept
• Beginner grammar now goes deeper — Each pattern adds "How it feels", "When not to", and "Easy mix-up", so you know how Koreans actually use it.
• Grammar practice matches the lesson — Big Hangul: tap the piece that fits, not four meaning cards.
• More grammar practice, not the same two questions — When a pattern comes back for review, you'll get a different question each time.
5.4.0 27 Aug
• Sort your words into My Lists — Group saved words by topic — exam day, travel, K-dramas — then quiz yourself or listen to just that list. (Premium)
• Tap any word, get the answer — 1,265 new words joined the dictionary. Almost every word you tap in an example sentence now opens with its meaning, native audio, and 220+ new illustrations.
• Beginner grammar, in plain words — Lists and quizzes now say what you can actually do with each pattern, not the grammar-book label.
• Jump right in from Home — The My Wordbook card now starts Listening or a Mistakes session in one tap.
• Listening now shows meanings — See each word's meaning in your language while you listen, so you always know what you're hearing.
5.3.0 24 Aug
• Grammar, taught the way your brain learns — Before your first grammar lesson, a quick 3-card primer shows how Korean sentences work: the verb comes last, little tags mark each word's job, and endings snap onto stems.
• Confusing pairs, finally clear — 은/는 vs 이/가, 안 vs 못, and 20 more tricky concepts now come with side-by-side comparisons and judgment quizzes — and they return for review right before you'd forget.
• Learn from every miss — Get a grammar question wrong and the rule plus a real example reappear on the spot, so wrong answers teach too.
• Read what you actually hear — After your first Hangul unit, hear why 밥이 sounds like [바비]. Later units teach the rule so you can read real words, not just letters.
5.2.0 20 Aug
• Listening mode — study with your ears (Premium, first listen free) — Turn your bookmarked and learned words into hands-free listening practice: words and their example sentences play back to back, with speed control and repeat.
• Auto-play pronunciation — Turn it on in Settings and every word card speaks as it appears — no more tapping the speaker each time. The speaker and bookmark buttons are also separated, so no more accidental bookmarks.
• Text size setting — Four sizes in Settings. Make everything comfortably larger for long study sessions.
• Meanings and examples refined — Dozens of fixes from learner reports: missing word senses added (쓰다 "to wear", 과장 "section manager"), cleaner translations, and more accurate quiz choices.
5.1.0 17 Aug
- A whole new feel — Every screen has been reworked: transitions, animations, and touches that make studying faster and smoother. Finish a unit or hit a streak milestone, and the app celebrates with you.
- Korean-only answer choices — New in Settings: hide translations in quiz choices so you can't guess your way through. For when you want a real test of your memory.
- See the original word for loanwords — Words borrowed from other languages now show their source: 코미디언 shows comedian. Instantly memorable.
- Smarter statistics — See your accuracy by quiz type, weakest first, and track progress against the TOPIK level you're studying now.
- Sharper quizzes and word data — Fill-in-the-blank difficulty has been tuned, and meanings and examples refined based on learner reports.
