OwlyMath does one thing: it builds fast, automatic recall of the core maths facts. It is aimed at ages 6-8, and works from Reception through to Year 3 and beyond.
From number bonds to 10 for beginners, up to times tables and division to 100 for older children, OwlyMath meets your child exactly where they are.
No adverts. No subscription. No pestering for money. Nothing in this app pushes your child towards a purchase.
ADAPTIVE PRACTICE THAT WORKS
Every answer is timed and recorded, fact by fact. The next session is built from that history, weighted towards the facts your child gets wrong or answers slowly. Facts they have never seen are mixed in so the whole table gets covered. Challenge mode leans much harder on the tricky ones.
Practice time goes where it is actually needed, instead of drilling facts they already know cold.
PRAISE THAT MEANS SOMETHING
Most apps cheer for turning up. OwlyMath cheers for getting better. Answer a fact faster than ever before and Owly says so on the spot. Finish a session and it names one thing that genuinely improved. A fact your child used to get wrong stays remembered until the day it is fixed - and then it gets its own moment.
THE LEARNED COLLECTION
Every fact your child knows cold, gathered on one screen and counted. Progress stops being a number in a parent's report and becomes a pile they can watch grow.
BUILT FOR EYFS, KS1 AND KS2
- Reception: number bonds and simple addition and subtraction to 10, with visual hints.
- Year 1 and 2: addition and subtraction fluency, mental maths and first word problems.
- Year 3 and up: times tables, division to 100 and multi-step word problems.
SHORT DAILY PRACTICE
Two five-minute sessions beat one long slog. Ten correct answers finish the Daily Challenge and keep the streak alive, which for most children is motivation enough on its own. Miss a day and you simply start again. Optional reminders for you name your child's latest win and sum up each week.
VISUAL HINTS WHEN THEY GET STUCK
A wrong answer never ends a session. Your child can try again, and "Show me!" draws the problem out with counters in rows of five, the way they are set out in class. Counters taken away are crossed out rather than vanishing, so your child can count what is left, and a replay button runs it again as often as needed - turning a miss into a lesson instead of a dead end.
WORD PROBLEMS
Word problems get their own 16-level ladder. Early levels teach the keyword clues like "altogether" and "left". Later levels take those clues away so your child has to read the situation. The top levels bring in two- and three-step problems, and "Show me how" walks through the steps. There are 320 of them, 20 at each level, with new numbers every time.
PROGRESS AND MASTERY
The Stats tab gives a Learning and Mastery score for each operation, plus time practised and slow facts. Progress Details opens a full grid of every fact, tinted by recent misses, so you can see where your child actually stands at a glance.

• Story problems now have 16 levels and 320 stories: missing numbers, tricky comparisons, two-step problems, multiplying, sharing and remainders.
• Every story shows its characters and the things being counted, and after a wrong try your child can tap the pictures to count.
• "What will you do?" asks which operation a story needs before the answer.
• More room to read: the number pad appears when you tap the answer box.
• A warmer, more natural voice reads stories aloud (iOS 26).
• Small fixes, like "1 acorn" instead of "1 acorns".
