Pick the days and times that normally suit your study. Your buddy sends a gentle invitation, without starting the timer for you or making demands. The empty home screen and welcome back are warmer too, making it easier to begin whenever you feel ready.

For study sessions recorded with breaks on this iPhone, the time-of-day chart now leaves out the break time. Discover your rhythm for this week for free, or look back across the whole month with Pro.

Stats now show the time of day you studied. See which hour you study most this week or month, with no labels like "morning person" attached. Knowing your usual study time makes the next plan easier to set.

Hold your iPhone to an NFC tag on your desk and studying starts. Do it again to stop (set it up in Shortcuts > Automation). Timing can now stop when your Focus turns off. Start at a set time or place, with the subject you choose, without opening the app.

- Monthly exam reminders: choose how many months ahead to start, and get one reminder every month until the exam. - Clearer Pro screen. Your records stay with you on the free plan, too.

- Your buddy talks now. It answers when you tap it and cheers you on when you start studying. Tap it too much and it pouts a little. - As an exam gets close, your buddy tells you how many days are left. In the morning, it mentions today's study plan.

- When you stop the timer, you now get a share card for the day: today's total, time per subject, your streak, and your buddy at a glance. - Tap Share to post it to X, LINE, Instagram, and more. Posts include #StudyBuddy.

- iCloud sync is now free for everyone. - Pause and resume the timer from widgets and the Lock Screen. - Your buddy now moves a little: it breathes, blinks, and reacts when you tap it. It reacts more as it grows. - Ambient sounds you have unlocked stay unlocked, even if you delete your records. - When you share today's study, a link to the app is included.

- Ambient sounds: play light rain outside, forest leaves, pencil on paper, or a quiet library while you study. Sounds unlock as your buddy levels up. Pro adds night rain by the window and soft noise. They mix with music from other apps. - Pause: pause the stopwatch. Paused time is not recorded. - Timer reminder: if the timer runs for 3 hours (or 5), you get one reminder. You can adjust the end time after you stop. You can turn it off in Settings. - Focus: start timing when an iPhone Focus turns on (Settings > Focus > Focus Filters).

- Study plans: keep a list of what to study today. Open it from "Today's plans" under "Start", then tap "Study this" to select it and its subject before you tap "Start". - Paste a study plan you made with AI or anywhere else to add many plans at once. You can also pick events from your calendar. - Choose a Reminders list to turn its items into study plans. When you finish one in Study Buddy, the reminder is completed too. - Unfinished plans carry over to the next day. After 7 days, they move to "Someday". - Materials: add textbooks or workbooks to each subject and see your time by material. - Weekly review: get a notification at 8 PM on the last day of the week, then tap it to see your total and the subject you studied most (you can turn it off in Settings). - Study tips: 12 ideas backed by research, under "Help" in Settings. - Settings and the purchase screen are now easier to read. - The Stats tab and the calendar now say which total you are looking at.

- Pomodoro: a new mode that repeats 25 minutes of focus and 5 minutes of rest (free). Change the times in Settings. You get a notification when each focus and rest ends. - Current goal: write what you're working toward in one line, like "Pass my English exam." - Exam reminders: get a reminder at 8:00 AM the day before, a week before, or months before an exam. - Share today's study as a single image, from the screen after you stop or from the Stats tab. - Initial setup: choose your buddy's name, subjects, and goals when you first open the app. You can redo it from Settings. - New in-app guide (Settings > How to use). - Your longest streak now appears on the Stats tab. - When you come back after a while, your buddy welcomes you back. - Fixed the Start button being hidden at the largest text sizes.

- iCloud sync and backup (Pro): your sessions and buddy are saved in your own iCloud. Switch iPhones and turn on "Sync with iCloud" with the same Apple ID to get them back. The developer cannot see them. - Focus rating: mark each session "Not great", "OK", or "Great" when you stop (optional), and see your weekly and monthly average. - CSV export: export your records from "Data" in Settings. - Lock Screen: while the timer runs, a ring fills around your buddy. - Start and stop from Control Center or the Action button (iOS 18 or later).

New features to help you keep studying. - Lock Screen: while the timer runs, the elapsed time and your buddy appear on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. - Widgets: start and stop the timer from your Home Screen widget without opening the app. - Daily goal: set a goal in minutes and see how much is left on the home screen. - Exam countdown: add your exam date to see the days left on the home screen and widgets. Add up to 5 exams with Pro. - Summary card: after you stop, see the EXP you earned, today's total, and your streak. - Calendar leaves: days you reach your goal get a leaf on the study calendar. - You can now edit records from "Recent Sessions" too.

You can now keep track of what you studied. - Subjects: choose a subject such as math or English before you start, or start without one. - Add records later: add time you forgot to track, up to 30 days back. - Edit records: change the time, subject, or note afterward. - Review: weekly and monthly charts show time by subject, and the study calendar shows your study days by shade. Past weeks and months are available with Pro. - Added subject and review questions to the FAQ. - Translated text that was still showing in English in Korean, Chinese, and other languages.

Study Pair is now more reliable. - Fixed the widget sometimes showing 0 for your partner's study time today. - Fixed your sessions sometimes not reaching your pair after reinstalling the app. - Partner start and cheer notifications are delivered in more situations, and now also appear while the app is open. - Leaving a pair no longer leaves you behind on your partner's screen if the leave step fails partway. - The "minutes to next level" line now shows EXP, with a note on how pair days count. - Added an FAQ in Settings that explains how the app and Study Pair work.

New: Study Pair (Study Buddy Pro). - Connect with one partner through an invite link and see their study time for today and whether they are studying right now. - Grow one buddy with the time you both put in. Days when both of you show up count as "pair days" and grow the buddy the most. - Choose a "cheer" role instead of studying, so parents can support a child without tracking them. - The Home Screen widget can show your partner's study time for today. - Pair data lives only in your iCloud. The developer cannot see it. Only the person who creates the pair needs Pro (one-time purchase). Invited partners join for free. Also fixes the buddy's smile and localizes the default buddy name.

A fresh new design. The app now uses a calm green palette that keeps the whole screen quiet and easy to read. While you study, a soft light glows around your buddy, and Start and Stop now respond with gentle haptic feedback. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets match the new look.
