PLANIFICA TUS VACACIONES A TU MANERA

SABE CUÁNTO VA A COSTAR

1.6.1 20 sep
Your year in the air has been redrawn. The globe is bigger, three counts climb as the reel plays (flights, countries, days away), and it signs off with the app icon beside the name.
Calibration and refine are newly illustrated, and a calibration left half-answered now picks up where it stopped.
Ideas come with photographs, and there are more places to search.
Somewhere you can reach by road offers the ground options rather than a flight, and a pasted stay link has a step of its own.
1.6.0 20 sep
Trips can have their own names. Tap the pencil beside a trip and call it something you will recognize later.
Dates are picked on a wheel now instead of typed, which is quicker and harder to get wrong.
The passport page has been cleaned up, and reads your nationality off the document instead of asking for it.
Yearly plans cost less: Pro is now $70 a year and Group is $149.
One new question. iOS will ask once whether an advert that brought you here may be credited with it. Saying no changes nothing about how the app works, and section 5h of the privacy policy sets out what is sent either way.
1.5.3 19 sep
Passports and visas
Add a passport by holding the camera over its photo page, or by typing the details in. Every plan is then checked against it: what the destination asks of that passport, whether a visa or an ETA is still needed, and what a visa you already hold covers. Reminders arrive six and three months before it expires.
The check is arithmetic over a table carried on your phone, so it answers with no signal and asks nothing of anyone. The passport number, your name and your date of birth are never read or kept.
A picture of where you are going
Every trip now carries a photograph of its destination, on the trip itself and everywhere it is listed. The switch that used to turn these off has gone, and with it the Photographs page in Settings; what it explained is in the privacy policy, under section 5g.
Getting started
The first screen takes one press instead of three.
Fixed
Home pages were cutting off their last card in a straight line above the tab bar. They reach the bottom of the screen now.
Today's timetable opened at eight in the morning whatever the time, so by the evening most of it was hours nobody could plan into. It starts at the hour you are in.
1.5.2 17 sep
"Start over" no longer closes the app.
In 1.5.0 the three buttons that begin again could shut it down on the first tap: Start over on the questions, Start over on a plan that failed, and the confirmation behind "Exit without saving".
German and Spanish now reach every screen.
The app picked your language at the first screen and then drew English on most of what came after it. Around nine hundred lines behind that screen were still English, including the notes under a plan, and they are in your language now.
Notifications are four switches, one for each kind.
Upcoming trips, unfinished plans, suggested destinations and holiday reminders each have their own switch, and subscribing no longer hides the page. Switching all four off stops everything the app would send.
1.5.1 16 sep
Dictation now listens in the language the app is speaking.
Switch the app to German or Spanish and the microphone follows. It had been decoding every language as English, which does not give you a rough transcript so much as a fluent English sentence you never said. The three questions before the plan are in your language now, and so are the notes under it: where to sleep and what is wrong with the area, how a museum sells its tickets, what a train fare depends on.
Distances read in miles on a phone set up for miles.
Everything is still worked out in kilometres. The conversion happens in the last inch before a number reaches the screen, so nothing gets converted twice.
The planner picks up how you like to travel.
Tell it you walk everywhere, or that you are not staying in a hostel, and it keeps that for the next trip. It says what it learned and where to remove it, and Settings counts what it is holding.
Permission for the AI is asked at the point you need it.
It used to stand in front of the whole app, before you had seen anything. Now it arrives when you tap the box to describe a trip, and "Not now" leaves you exactly where you were.
Reminders arrive in German and Spanish.
And the year-in-the-air reel carries on playing when you come back from sharing it, instead of sitting frozen on the frame you left.
1.5.0 15 sep
The app is called TripEase now, and it has a new icon to match.
Nothing about how it works has changed. Your saved trips, your plans and anything you have bought are all still here, and you will not be asked to accept anything again.
One thing worth knowing: share links and invitations you create from now on point at tripease.io. Links you sent before this update keep working exactly as they did, so there is nothing to resend.
1.4.0 14 sep
The app is in German and Spanish, and so is the trip. Ask for four days in Lisbon in German and the days, the stops and the line explaining each one come back in German. Place names stay as they are written where they stand, because a phone held up to a taxi driver needs the name on the sign. It follows your phone's language; there is no setting to find.
Friends and family. Choose an @name, send a link, and whoever accepts sees your year in the air beside theirs — hours, flights and distance, and nothing else. Opt-in, and the only part of the app that puts anything about you on a server.
Opening one stop in Google Maps now searches its city as well. A café in Athens called Seychelles used to open the islands, four thousand miles away.
And the first stop after a journey in knows about your luggage again: the planner has always written "after the bags are dropped", and the app had never been able to read it.
1.3.0 13 sep
Your year in the air.
Let the app read where this year's photos were taken and it works out the places, the flights between them and the kilometres — on the phone, in about a second, without opening a single picture. What comes out is a video made for posting: the year in large type, a plane crossing a dotted globe from airport to airport, the distance climbing under it, and the totals at the end. It is drawn and encoded on your phone, so there is nothing to upload and nothing to queue, and Open in Instagram lands in the composer with the clip already selected.
It is a heuristic and the screen says so: two places far enough apart are taken to have been flown between, so a long drive flatters the year and a flight with no photos at either end is missed.
The coordinates are dropped the moment the year is worked out. What is kept is a list of airports and a distance, on the phone. None of it is sent anywhere.
Reminded to plan the next one.
Leave it a while without planning anything and the app asks — a day after your last plan, a week after, a month after, and then it stops rather than finding a fourth way to ask. Settings › Reminders has the switch and says when the next one is due.
A shared plan now carries its maps.
Send somebody a link and each day arrives with a picture of that day's map — its own pins, numbered, and the route between them — photographed on the phone when the link was made.
1.2.1 11 sep
Group trips.
Start one, send the link to a group chat, and everyone who joins says how they travel, when they can go, and one sentence on what they want from it. The plan is then built for all of you: it waits until everyone has answered and there is a stretch of dates every one of you can make, and it is never proposed for days one of you said no to.
The month shows who is free when, with a colour for each of you, and marks the days somebody would be working. Say you cannot make it and the group carries on without you. Before anything is planned the trip settles where it is going and checks that each of you can actually get there on day one, which is the question a shared calendar cannot answer.
Up to seven of you on Niche Travel Planner Group. Joining a trip somebody else started is free.
1.2.0 10 sep
The whole app has been redrawn.
Type is set on one scale rather than twenty-five ad-hoc sizes, every icon is drawn instead of borrowed from an emoji font, and cards carry real depth — so a warning, a stop and a footnote no longer read alike.
Home knows whether you have a trip. It opens on your most recent one, drawn as its own map, rather than on a blank box.
Where you are sleeping is settled before the plan is written. Paste a Booking.com or Airbnb link and the page is read on your phone, so the days are built around the address you actually booked rather than a guess.
Subscription says plainly what you are on, with the day, week and month ceilings drawn as bars rather than recited in a sentence.
Every page with a back arrow now also comes back on a swipe in from the left edge.
Days are labelled by date rather than "Day 2", costs lead with one total, and tapping a stop on the map gets you down to that block.
1.1.0 8 sep
