A aba voltou.

Faster, cooler, and far more reliable on big panoramas: • Large stitches finish. The blend used to grow with the number of overlapping frames and could be shut down by the system partway through a big capture. Memory per tile is now bounded, so multi-hundred-megapixel panoramas run to completion. • Much faster and noticeably cooler. A 16-frame panorama was decoding the same photos over a thousand times; now each is read once. The image engine was also being built unoptimised — that's fixed, which speeds up every stitch on every device. • "Auto-crop edges" actually crops now. The switch had no effect on the final panorama. • Adjust edits at full resolution. Corrections used to quietly work on a smaller copy of very large panoramas; now the whole thing is edited at full size, in one resampling pass instead of four, so it also comes out a touch sharper. 16-bit panoramas stay 16-bit. • Capture tells you how steady to be for the scene you're in. How much a small step matters depends entirely on how close the nearest subject is — a few centimetres is nothing across a valley and a lot in front of a fence. The guide now measures the closest thing in view and shows the drift that scene can tolerate, before it costs you the shot. Thanks for flying with Pano Owl.

Sharper seams and cleaner captures: • Big alignment upgrade: edges that used to shear or double at seams — cabinets, window frames, chairs, table legs — now line up when you zoom in. The stitcher aligns finer detail along every seam and routes cuts around close objects instead of through them. • New drift coaching while you capture: because a panorama assumes you pivot in place, the guide now shows how far you've stepped from your starting point and points you back — so you take a cleaner set of photos to begin with. • Denser capture guide: a few more frames per sweep means smaller gaps between shots and noticeably cleaner joins. • Rock-solid on big panoramas: fixed a crash and several memory issues on very large, multi-hundred-megapixel stitches, and made results perfectly repeatable from the same photos. Thanks for flying with Pano Owl.

Two fixes for smoother panoramas: • Capture no longer cancels with "Moved too much" while you're holding the phone perfectly still. The hold-still detector was drifting on its own over long captures — it now only counts real movement, so steady hands sail through every shot. • Stitched panoramas no longer show black holes or angular cuts through the image when "Reduce ghosting" is on. Areas covered by a single photo's edges were being dropped from the blend — they now render fully. Thanks for flying with Pano Owl.

Stability and reliability improvements. Thanks for flying with Pano Owl.

Pano Owl 2.1 brings Shortcuts and visionOS-ready exports. • Stitch from the Shortcuts app: photos in, finished panorama file out — choose projection, export preset, ghost reduction, and auto-crop, and watch live progress while the engine runs. • New Shortcuts actions: Get Export Presets, plus Get/Set Setting for your stitch defaults. • visionOS-ready 360 exports: the complete GPano metadata set (now including full pose) is embedded losslessly — EXIF and GPS are preserved exactly, and geotagged panoramas no longer lose their 360 tag. • Fixed HDR exposure fusion coming out too dark. Thanks for flying with Pano Owl.

Pano Owl 2.0 is a complete rebuild. • Brand-new Metal stitching engine — streams gigapixel panoramas with no resolution cap, far beyond what fits in memory. • Capture at the full 48 MP of your camera — or in Apple ProRAW (DNG) for true sensor data. HDR brackets stitch as full exposure layers into a 16-bit result. • AR-guided capture with a world-anchored target grid, auto-capture, a live hold-still meter that discards moved frames, and on-device blur detection. • Planar capture on walls, floors, and ceilings; Rig Guide mode draws a grid sized to your DSLR/mirrorless lens. • True 360° spherical (equirectangular) output with GPano metadata — immersive viewing in-app, on the web, and on Apple Vision Pro. Partial panoramas sit exactly where you shot them. • One-tap auto-crop, horizon straightening, drag-to-correct distortion, video-to-panorama, and GPS + heading on every export. Thanks for flying with Pano Owl.

Improved memory handling that should resolve some of the crashes users were experiencing. Improved panorama stitching reliability.

Improved reliability of Panorama Stitching and HDR Merging

Added HDR merging to enable multi exposure photo stacking with basic tone mapping support.

Improved error handling with better descriptions for each possible kind of error.

Improved error handling.

Fixed image picker to allow multiple images again. Improved scaling algorithm to support better resolutions, more reliably.

TLDR: The app should work properly with more devices and a more broad number of images being stitched. Detailed explanation: Fixed the out of memory crash when stitching large images by introducing a new algorithm that relies on how much memory your device has when handling the scaling of the rendered panorama.

- Fixed image selection loading on iOS 15. - Improved Stitching.

- Updated Owl Graphic to indicate that it is stitching your panorama. - Added an auto crop feature that attempts to automatically crop the panorama to a normal rectangle. - Added a button to toggle between the auto crop and the un-cropped image so you can save either or both if you want to be able to manually crop the panorama yourself. - Improved handling of current image that was stitched to prevent removing it before it should be removed.
