Detailed Features:
• Weather Observations - NOAA NDBC Buoy Weather Observations / NOAA NDBC Buoy Reports for the following data points (the type of observations varies between stations, and may also vary throughout the day):
- Wind speed, wind gusts, and wind direction
- Air temperature & water temperature (a.k.a., sea temperature or ocean temperature)
- Dew point
- Pressure and tendency
- Significant wave height, direction, and periods
- Wave components of swell & wind waves
• Buoy Observation Trends - See how the marine weather datapoints are changing over time
• Weather forecasts from Apple Weather, NOAA, & Meteo-France including forecasts for significant wave height, wind waves, swell, and water temperature for most buoy stations.
• Widgets - See weather observations on your home screen (*Premium)
• Favorites - Conveniently track observations at the buoy stations you care about most. With Premium, you also get a view that shows buoy observations for all your favorites at once.
• Maps - Find buoy stations and view buoy observations on an interactive map, including NOAA, NCEP, & NASA overlays and radar/precipitation. Overlays are subject to change, but currently include base radar reflectivity, sea surface temperature, nautical charts, chlorophyll concentration, and more. (Some overlays require Premium)
• NOAA Marine Forecasts for most locations. (*Premium required for full forecasts, including a synopsis) [Some locations that are very remote or up rivers are not in marine forecast zones, and do not have marine forecasts]
• Customize the home screen to change the order of the data, and put the items most relevant to you at the top. (*Premium)
• Sun & Moon Times and position chart including rise, set, and civil dawn/dusk.
• Buoy Cams for a limited number of stations. (*Premium)
BuoyPro is not affiliated with NOAA, but it uses NOAA NDBC as a primary data source for marine buoy weather. If you want to move up from the free features, the Premium upgrade provides the best value for price out there & all Premium plans offer family sharing.
BuoyPro is free, but the free version shows ads for the Premium service and has limited features. BuoyPro Premium removes the ads and unlocks every feature. Premium has a 1 week free trial, so you can try it out and see if it's worth it for you. (Thank you so much to subscribers!)
Note: BuoyPro requires an internet connection. While the app provides data around the world, the best coverage is around the United States and US territories.
