In this update, we are introducing Parental Controls to Pigeon. This new setting reflects upon requests by parents that had wished for an option to communicate with their child via Pigeon, while ensuring certain safeguards are present. The current set of control abilities include the following options: - Disallow access to the sending of the supported message types, such as text, quick replies, GIFs, stickers, location and voice messages. - Disable the search functionality, ensuring that users cannot find unknown chats. - Ensure that reactions can only be viewed. - Block access to web links shared by any user. To setup, check out the new "Parental Controls" option in the settings page. Access can be restricted using a 4 digit passcode. Feature requires watchOS 10.0+ and an active subscription. Here comes the long awaited, big feature update for Pigeon! It consists of the following new features: - New Voice Message Player: You can now seek to a different part of the voice recording or change playback speeds, while playing a voice message that you’ve received. Note that you will have to disable the system player in settings. (Requires watchOS 10.x) - Enhanced, rich notifications experience: Received a message with an image, sticker or voice? With this latest update, you will be able to see it directly on your notification, as well as to reply directly. (Requires watchOS 10.x and active subscription) - New Connection Status Indicator: Glows around the Watch’s borders, denoting connection status through color. Green represents connected, yellow represents updating and red represents connecting. (Can be opted out in Settings > General section) - Block quotes are now displayed with a basic background border. - The first image attached to any message is now shown directly inline in the chat environment. - Reactions are now shown directly with every message, reducing the need to visit the secondary menu via long press gesture. - Increased long press gesture duration, to prevent unintended menu displays - Removed message press animation, to improve performance - Localized for Chinese (Traditional) language, as well as localization updates for other languages. - The telegram library (TDLib) has been updated to a newer release in this update. - Third-party browser option: Users can now choose to open links in third party browsers such as Darock Browser. - Option to show unread status indicator with a highlighted look. This overlay appears when you’ve momentarily lost connection with Telegram servers, so that you know Pigeon is trying it’s best to reconnect.
