YOUR DAY, READ BY THE SKY Each morning, Canopy tells you the planetary hour (sa'at al-kawakib) ruling the moment and the lunar mansion (manzil) the Moon has entered. These are not ornaments. They are the core instruments of a tradition codified by al-Biruni in the eleventh century, and they change your day in concrete, legible ways. Planetary hours follow the ancient order — Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars — cycling through every hour of day and night, each with its own counsel. YOUR NATAL CHART Your birth chart is calculated using the techniques of traditional Arabian astrology — essential dignities, whole-sign houses, the Arabic lots, and the Thema Mundi as the foundational reference chart. Every placement carries a personalized reading that resonates with your core. ELECTIONAL TIMING (IKHTIYARAT) The medieval court astrologers were asked one question above all others: when is the right moment to act? Canopy's elections feature answers it — scanning the sky for windows favorable to your intention, whether a contract, a journey, a marriage, or any beginning. THE 28 LUNAR MANSIONS (MANAZIL) The manazil al-qamar — the twenty-eight stations of the Moon — form the oldest continuous sky-watching system in the Arabian world.
