Worst Experience: No Stay, No Refund, No Support
A Ghost, Clearly
Extremely disappointing experience with Airbnb. My host canceled close to my trip without any real explanation, only saying “sorry I cannot be your host,” and then continued listing the same Airbnb while also having other properties in the same area available for the same dates. After the cancellation, I was also unable to continue any dialogue with the host, which made the situation even more frustrating.Instead of properly helping, Airbnb processed a refund I explicitly declined. They split the refund across payment methods and sent part of it to a card that was no longer active, which my bank declined. Despite providing proof of multiple failed transactions, they continued to say the refund was “processed,” even though I never had access to the funds.This left me unable to secure alternative accommodation in time for my trip.Customer service made the situation worse. The agents were rude, aggressive, dismissive, and unhelpful. Even after escalation to a senior team, there was no real effort to resolve the issue, just scripted responses and no accountability. These agents clearly need better training on handling urgent, real world situations.Overall, this experience has left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unfairly treated by both the host and support team.Be very careful when booking, especially for important or time sensitive trips. If something goes wrong, don’t expect timely or practical support.
