New in 1.6: Luma on iPad and iPhone Duo, with big grids and a full-screen player. Plus Technical Details and lyrics sent from your Mac. No account, no subscription.
Luma is the music player for your own collection on iPhone and iPad. No account, no subscription, no internet connection: import your music files and Luma sorts them by artist, album and song automatically.
YOUR MUSIC, IN FULL QUALITY
FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF and Opus play natively, with no conversion. Gapless playback for live albums and concept records, crossfades between songs, an equalizer and volume normalization so no song sticks out.
EASY TO GET IN
Import from the Files app, open music straight in Luma or drop it into the Luma folder on your iPhone, which you can also fill from a Mac in the Finder. Covers, titles and lyrics come along.
ORGANIZED YOUR WAY
- Library by albums, artists and songs, with artist pages and large cover art
- Playlists with custom covers, smart playlists and collections for whole albums
- A queue that shows what you added yourself and what comes next automatically
- Edit song info and write it straight into the music file
- Fast search with history
SYNCED LYRICS
Synced lyrics from the tags or from .lrc, .elrc and .ttml files follow along as you listen.
FOR EVERY DAY
Sleep timer, liked songs, listening stats with top songs and favorite artists. Playback continues in the background and can be controlled from the Lock Screen, Control Center and your AirPods.
PRIVATE
Luma collects no data, shows no ads and sends nothing to any server. What's on your device stays there.
Ratings & Reviews
This app has not received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
iPad and iPhone Duo
- Albums and playlists fill the screen: as many covers side by side as fit, upright and in landscape.
- The player opens full screen. In landscape the cover sits beside the controls.
- Album, playlist, artist and collection pages show the cover beside the title.
- Lyrics open full screen with larger text.
- The mini player stays compact and centred.
- On iPhone Duo, Luma follows along when you fold or unfold, and the music keeps playing.
- In narrow windows on iPad, Luma keeps the familiar iPhone layout.
New: Technical Details
- A song's format, sample rate, bit depth, bitrate and loudness. For the playing song, also the signal path to the output and a live spectrogram.
- Turn it on under Settings › Playback › Advanced. Then find it in a song's menu and via the button in the player.
Lyrics
- The lyrics view now has a scrubber and playback controls.
- Lyrics files come along with your songs from the Mac (with Luma Transfer 1.1 or Luma for Mac 1.1). Songs already on the iPhone get their lyrics added.
- Lyrics files are matched to the right song more reliably on import, and they take priority over lyrics in the tags.
Playlists and Collections
- New playlists open the song picker right away. Empty playlists get an "Add Songs" button.
- The picker always shows how many songs are selected, even after searching. The button next to the search field just hides the keyboard.
- Collections are sorted by year, oldest album first. Drag the albums into an order of your own and it stays. "Sort by Year" brings the sorting back.
More
- Tap Library or Playlists again to scroll back to the top.
