Doctor Who: Worlds Apart 9+

Welcome Whovians! It’s time for another update to Doctor Who: Worlds Apart, and v0.10.0 brings with it some much needed improvements, alongside some NEW cards to help Skaldak enact his revenge. We know, it’s sending chills through our bones too!



New Cards
Three new cards added to the game:

Ice Warrior Armour
Cost: 1
Power: 0
Ability: When a friendly character's Power is about to be reduced, merge with it. Its Power can't be reduced until turn end.

Ice Warrior Armour is there to save you just when you think all might be lost. Ice Warriors are known to never leave their armour, and with good reason — it protects them against the harsh Martian atmosphere. Skaldak might just thank his lucky stars when Ice Warrior Armour comes to protect you against any devious plans your opponent might have.



Avalanche
Cost: 3
Power: 0
Ability: On Reveal: Merge with the opposing character. Give it -4 Power and move to an adjacent location.

An icy tomb awaits your opponent when you play Avalanche — a huge -4 Power AND the ability to move that card to an adjacent location could be the difference between winning a world, and the game, or losing it.



Deep Freeze
Cost: 1
Power: 0
Ability: Constant: The opposing character's location and Power can't be changed.

Deep Freeze… Stasis… you get the picture. Deep Freeze is a fantastic counter, especially against cards such as… *checks notes*… Skaldak who want to increase their Power when played. So, if you’ve found players going for huge Turn 6 swings… well, Deep Freeze could meet them with a frosty reception.

Art, Visual Effects & Audio

New Hand/ Deck Animations & VFX

New animations to show stacks/ fans of cards to represents effects that affect both your own and opponents hands and decks

These are for use during gameplay visual sequences, such as adding/removing cards and buffing/de-buffing.

These new effects will make use of player chosen deck backs.




NEW Card Levelling Sequence

Immersive new VFX when you level up your cards, showing you travelling through the time vortex.

This tells a story of restoration, where your cards are little windows of moments of time. Periodically exposing them to the energy of the vortex, will restore them.

This will better showcase the upgrades to cards. We hope to expand on this feature in the future.
