With this update, you can keep an even closer eye on rain and tropical cyclones—and read your weather maps more easily. • Arrival arrow: See which direction precipitation is moving and when it is expected to reach your selected location. Available for Germany and parts of the surrounding areas. • Clearer legends: A new vertical colour scale, with values displayed beside each colour, makes your weather maps easier to understand. • More tropical cyclones: In addition to data from the National Hurricane Center, the app now displays storms tracked by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center—including systems in the northwestern Pacific, the northern Indian Ocean (the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea), the southern Indian Ocean, and the South Pacific.

For an even clearer view of the weather: A new European pressure map based on ICON-EU data from the German Weather Service (DWD). Colour-coded areas show mean sea-level pressure across Europe, while isobars and animated wind particles make weather patterns easy to understand—for example, whether warm air is flowing in from Spain or cold air is arriving from Scandinavia. See European weather conditions at a glance with weather symbols for selected locations. An improved hurricane map with forecast tracks, uncertainty cones, and forecast points showing the expected time, wind direction, and wind speed.

Rain Viewer just got even more powerful: You can now display near real-time satellite imagery directly in the app — powered by three major data sources for maximum coverage and detail: • EUMETSAT for Europe and surrounding regions • NOAA GOES for the USA, Atlantic, Pacific, and adjacent areas • NASA GIBS for global satellite imagery worldwide This gives you significantly improved, worldwide cloud coverage — perfect for tracking large-scale weather patterns. Follow hurricanes across the Atlantic and Pacific, or monitor developing low-pressure systems over the Mediterranean. Recent signs of a possible “Mediterranean hurricane” (medicane) in the Ionian Sea, for example, can now be tracked especially well with these new satellite images. The satellite imagery complements your familiar rain radar data perfectly: while radar shows where it’s currently raining, satellite images reveal where clouds are forming, how they’re moving, and how major weather systems are developing — anywhere on Earth.

When you tap the map, a small window appears with the place name and weather information for that location. The location can be transferred directly to the favorites list via the (+) button
