This is the official app for BoardGameGeek, an online resource and community that aims to be the definitive source for board game and card game content. Daily new content, continuously updated by millions of passionate users, makes ‘the Geek’ the largest and most up-to-date place to get gaming information. You can become a registered member of BoardGameGeek (BGG) for free, and we welcome your contributions in the form of ratings, reviews, and thoughts on games!
BGG features reviews, ratings, images, play-aids, translations, and session reports from board game geeks around the world, as well as live discussion forums.
Here you’ll find many types of board games, including thousands you’ve probably never seen in a store. We cover not only board games but also dice games, card games, tile-laying games, and games of dexterity. We have abstracts, economic games, dungeon crawls, city building, diplomacy and negotiation, trading, puzzle games, strategy games, party games, war games, and many more. We run the gamut from the light and whimsical Carcassonne to the serious and heavy empire-building of Twilight Imperium: Fourth Edition. Well-known games like Monopoly exist in the database as well, although you’ll find almost all users prefer modern games that exhibit advancements in game play and component quality since Monopoly was first published.

Updates to the new subscriptions screen:
- Tapping anywhere but the gear button now works for going to the subscription item.
- Added 'Recently Read' option to Unread/Read drop down.
- Shows subscription settings button in title bar when viewing a subscription item.
- Long-press a second item in the list to select a range of items.
- Added clear selection button.
- Long-press a type selection button to select all but that type, or add that type to the selection.

Steadily improving
I’ve been using this app since the beta and it’s been great to watch the developers make decisions about what works and what doesn’t. I have every confidence that it will continue to improve but — right now — it’s everything I need in an app version of BGG, especially on the iPhone.
So why not 5 stars? Because I want to see the refinements continue!

Viewing games, and their categories/tags is much better in this app than the browser version.
The “Subscriptions” page is still not implemented, and any forum post with a poll is only visible in browser, so using this app means constantly flipping between the app version and the browser version.
Posting anything is awful. It does not have the easy object linking feature of the browser version. And even if it did, it doesn’t have a convenient way to look at multiple things at once (like with browser tabs) to get IDs for games/geeklists/forums to use in those links.
There is no way to organize your home page, so you have to scroll through a lot of filler and cruft to finds just the bits you want.
Ads are still displayed in the app, even when signed in as a donor.
Too many issues
Crashes often, less functionality than website, certain things not working. Frustrating really.
