* How to Play Cribbage
The goal is to be the first to score 121 points.
Each player is dealt 6 cards, and 2 are placed in the “crib” (a bonus hand for the dealer).
Players take turns laying down cards in a running total of up to 31, scoring for:
• Fifteens (any combo of cards adding to 15)
• Pairs, triples, quads
• Runs (3+ consecutive cards)
After play, players score their hands and the crib with the starter card.
Special scoring includes “one for his n*b” (jack of starter’s suit) and “two for his heels” (starter is a jack).
The game ends instantly when a player reaches 121 points on the cribbage board.
Cribbage is simple to learn, but strategy comes from knowing when to score, when to block, and how to manage the crib.
