Frequency’s smart device application will replace and augment existing communication tools currently in use in the airline industry by using VoIP technology to extract the benefits and discard the limitations of existing communication methods. The target customers are commercial airlines, they currently use a combination of VHF radios, HF radios, mobile phones, landline phones, satellite phones, CPDLC, ACARS and emails. Each of these methods has its associated limitations and costs. Frequency’s smart device application can meet the communication needs within any airline using existing hardware at substantially reduced costs and significantly improved efficiency and functionality. This opportunity has arisen following the industry wide introduction of on-board Wi-Fi, 4G tablet devices, issuing of tablet devices to relevant staff and Electronic Flight Bags in cockpits.
