This app use to be ok. It always had black bars on top and bottom. The Stretch feature would just distort the image and cut the corners off. Now on top of black bars on top and bottom, they’re on the sides as well. Using even less of the screen making the image even smaller. The stretch feature is as useless as ever.
Hello, thanks for leaving a review for Genki Studio. iPad screens have a unique, more square ratio, compared to all capture cards in the market, which only supports output in the regular 16:9 ratio. This makes the preview image displayed with a letter-boxing effect. Genki Studio supports both Stretch to Zoom and Crop to Zoom features; they allow you to use pinch and stretch gestures on the preview screen to stretch or crop the preview image to let it fill the iPad screen. The issue you are describing, of preview images having a letterbox, pillarbox, and even windowbox effect, is something out of our app’s control. As Genki Studio is trying to display the whole input image from your capture card on iPad's unique ratio screen, this will cause a letterbox effect unless you use the stretch or crop to zoom feature that distorts the original 16:9 ratio images. The pillarbox issue you are describing is something caused by your capture device and the images you are capturing, which is limiting a more square ratio image to output in a regular 16:9 ratio output resolution, and then the capture card's output in a 16:9 ratio image and displayed by the Genki Studio app correctly in a more square ratio iPad display, causing the windowbox effect. We suggest you look into the settings of your capture card and devices you are connecting to, updating output resolution settings; if you are using a computer, you may be able to create a custom resolution that is in the same ratio as your iPad screen, which will be captured by your capture card and output in a regular 16:9 ratio image, and the Genki Studio app is able to use the stretch to zoom feature to unstretch to its original ratio of iPad screen ratio.
