Rover Mode now talks to your radio, and a Tropo refresh you can steer. YOUR RADIO, BOTH WAYS Turn the dial and Rover's frequency and mode follow it; set them in the app and the radio follows you. Split is handled properly, so a cross-band contact logs the frequency you transmitted on and the one you listened on. Your radio is never touched while transmitting, whatever you are typing is never overwritten, and a contact always saves exactly what the fields show. HOWEVER YOURS IS WIRED Over the network — rigctld, Icom WLAN, Kenwood KNS, Elecraft K4, or serial over TCP. Straight off the phone — USB, Bluetooth SPP, Bluetooth LE, or an LE-UART bridge. ANNOUNCE AN ACTIVATION, OR SPOT YOURSELF Tell the world you are on the air. From Extra > Spots, announce a planned activation so chasers can diary it, or spot yourself live the moment you are on frequency — to POTA, WWFF, GMA and the DX cluster, in one go. Each programme takes its own optional activation callsign, sent exactly as you type it, slash and suffix intact. Nothing is fired and forgotten: an announcement composed where there is no signal is held and sent when coverage returns, and a tick beside each programme shows exactly what happened to your last post. ALSO IN THIS RELEASE A small antenna button beside TX Frequency grabs the dial and mode in one tap. The Tropo refresh button gets its two gestures back — and no longer reports success when it did not actually refresh. Satellite contacts made through the space station now pass LoTW cleanly. Ham Logging v 1.1.1 +5 - What’s New in This Version: Tropo reliability + a Rover heads-up touch. • Tropo (VHF/UHF ducting) map now heals a partial forecast on its own. If part of the area doesn't come down on the first try — say a few map tiles drop on a shaky connection — the app quietly fetches the missing piece once more in the background and fills it in, so those areas no longer linger looking like clear, duct-free air. Quiet conditions (genuinely no ducting) still show as clear, as before. No prompts, nothing to tap. • While you're viewing the Tropo tab, the forecast now refreshes itself in the background once your data ages out, so you pick up a newer model run without leaving and re-opening the tab. It only fetches when something has actually changed — no needless redraws, and it stays quiet when you're offline or already current. • Smoother time-scrubbing on the Tropo map and a lighter network footprint per refresh. • Rover mode: the "worked before" heads-up now leads with the station's country. ROVER MODE • Enter — or dictate — a callsign you've worked before and a quick note shows the date you last worked that station and the band, plus how many times and on which bands across your whole log (e.g. "A41UK last worked 24/06/2026 on 2m. Worked 6 times on 2m and 10m."). Pulled straight from your saved contacts — no lookup, no network needed. • A new history button appears at the edge of the callsign field for worked-before stations. Tap it for a scrollable list of every past QSO with that station — date, time, frequency and band on each line. SYNC — CONFIRMATIONS • LoTW, eQSL and QRZ.com now show how many of your QSOs each service has confirmed (green) versus still pending (orange), with a one-tap Refresh. QRZ reads straight from your logbook — no paid subscription needed. New “Force Re-enrich All” and “Deep Enrich (full)” options in the QSO Logs menu (Deep Enrich adds 6-char grid, county, QSL info, and license class). • Smoother saving of large logbooks — the app stays responsive while it writes. • Callsign lookup is steadier on an unstable connection — a dropped link no longer loses the basic info already retrieved. Spots • New “RBN” sub-mode: shows where YOUR callsign has been picked up (Reverse Beacon Network + DX-cluster), last 72 hours, each row tagged with source and how long ago. • New “SOTA” sub-mode: live Summits on the Air activator spots, filter by band/mode or search by summit, callsign, or reference. Logging & map • Manual QSO entry: Date/Time UTC are now tap-to-open pickers that stay put across “Save & Next QSO” for batch back-dated entry; tap the clock icon to snap back to now. • Manual QSO entry: picking a satellite auto-fills TX/RX band + frequency + mode from a built-in catalog of 100+ amateur satellites. • Map: turning off “Show Worked Grids on Map” now hides the worked-grid markers too; grid circles are a touch smaller for a cleaner map. • Map: the info panel now shows a live location row — your saved QTH grid, your current grid (“You are here”), and the distance between them, all updating every second as you move. It tucks away when you tap a worked grid or set a destination. • Grid locators now display in standard Maidenhead case (e.g. LL93jq) — the subsquare letters are no longer shown in all-caps — on the map and in spot details. • APRS map: fixed a crash on a second packet from a station first heard without an internet gateway; toggling APRS off then on reloads stations straight away.
