Even though we make a lot of jokes, all medical or clinical information provided through Pregnant AF is serious and reviewed regularly. Guidelines, recommendations, or any other information comes from three main sources: American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and Varney’s Midwifery (6th Edition). PregnantAF also uses the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as the sources of any specific studies referenced. Any time a source is referenced, a link or citation to the source is provided at the bottom of each app page.
Medical and clinical information are delivered in a funny, easy-to-read way to help you to have informed conversations with your midwife or doctor throughout your pregnancy. It is intended as a guide, rather than as advice, and you should always contact your provider with any questions or issues you’re having.
