Version 6.8.0 refreshes Flavortown with 1,642 restaurants, 7 new locations, updated restaurant statuses, and 13 new featured videos. The bundled database is also 34% smaller for faster loading and a lighter download.

What's New in 6.7.0 NEW • Videos tab now sorted by newly found videos at the top every time you open it. • 17 new featured videos added, including Bob's Taco Station (TX), South 21 Drive-In (NC), Boneyard Bistro (CA), Angkor Chef (CA), Villa Zuccaro (ME), and two Alberta, Canada locations. • 4 new restaurants: StreetZlan Restaurant (CA), Fratelli Briganti (FL), Trattoria Garga (FL), and Il Gusta Pizza (FL). • Restaurant database refreshed to 1,635 total locations — 1,286 open & 349 closed — 441 now have featured videos. IMPROVEMENTS • Cleaner videos search: match by restaurant name, state, or video title. Country is no longer matched, so searching "USA" won't return the entire list. • Multi-word searches (like "arizona burger") now require every word to appear, so results are far more precise. • Polish on the videos search field — updated placeholder copy and accurate VoiceOver hints. BUG FIXES • Rotating your device no longer breaks the inline YouTube player — the video reloads correctly. • Map video sheets are stable when opened from a pin callout, and present full screen on iPad so the entire restaurant detail is visible. • Tab selection is preserved when rotating between portrait and landscape on iPhone — you stay on the screen you were viewing. • The Nearby tab now correctly shows video indicators for restaurants in your area. • Removed an incorrect featured video link from one restaurant's data. TX for using the Flavortown mobile app!

There's a new look and feel, the biggest thing requested was a map with all the restaurants on it so it's there now. You just zoom in or out to see the restaurant details. Reach out to my email if you have any feature requests, bugs or just want someone to join you at one of our local Diners, Drive-ins and Dives while you're here visiting Minneapolis, MN

- bug fixes - ui changes - share user comments on the restaurant page

ADD MILES AWAY - You will see how many "Miles Away" you are from a Diners, Drive-ins and Dives restaurant when you're on the "What's Near Me?" page or when you're on the "Search by Restaurant Name or Address" page.

FIX - update the pull to refresh on the state pages as it wasn't working correctly

1. Better functionality if you're not connected to the internet i.e. areas like "Find By States" "Recently Aired" and "Search Restaurants" will use a local json file 2. Cleaned up the User Interface making it simpler to use 3. Removed Facebook login due to user errors, will add it back after researching the problems

SOON - Dark Mode is COMING UPDATED - Look and feel has bigger fonts to make it easier to read on the card style listing for restaurants REMOVED COMMENTING - Due to spam, I removed the ability to add comments "for now" until I find a better way to manage them CHANGE - Using Apple Maps exclusively now, it's such a better mapping experience ADDED - Driving Directions button below the map on the restaurant page will route you to the restaurant right from your current location ADDED - Track the restaurants where you ate just visited by logging into your Facebook account and then go to one of the restaurant pages and mark it off your list. I will add more functionality around that so you can keep track of how many restaurants you've been to and how many you have left to go. Feel free to reach out and share your feedback, suggestions or comments at rick@flavortownusa.com

* FIXED - updated the facebook api so you can login again * NEW - add comments when logged in with your facebook account (you must be online to submit restaurant comments)

bug fix - people contacted me via email saying the app crashed when logging in using Facebook so I added a couple more login checks that I think will fix the issue. it's always a work in progress using Facebook as a login platform so thanks for your patience in advance.

ADDED --> Login with your Facebook account and go to any restaurant page and click on the "Been There" button, that will sync with the website ADDED --> I updated the states page counts to include the other countries Guy Fieri visits and the state counts are updated from the cloud along with being refreshable FIXED --> The restaurant page would double load from the cloud when you came back from the comments page, it's fixed so it uses the data initially downloaded the first time *** I will add more of the features that you see on the website i.e. Favorites, Voting, Adding Comments etc. in future releases so stay tuned ***

Fast loading of restaurant pages especially the "alphabetical" & "recently aired" due to a couple code tweaks, now showing the count of cached items locally, changed expiration of cached items to be 30 days instead of 24 hours and added a refresh icon on the upper right corner of certain pages which pulls the latest data from the cloud, lastly, added icons to the restaurant details page.

The "alphabetical" & "recently aired" pages were loading slowly so I made them a little bit faster and could still load faster so I'll keep looking into. I added the refresh icon on the top right for various pages so you can grab the most recent data in the cloud rather then use your cached version that is stored on your phone.

Sorry Sorry Sorry! It's been way too long since I updated this app but due to recent circumstances ... I'll have a lot more time to add the features you keep requesting everyday. Please take a look and you will see a couple updates a month from here on out as I really want to make this your FAVORITE Diners, Drive-ins and Dives app. ~Rick btw - I'm very sure there are a couple bugs that I don't know about that will need fixing since I'm using a new platform to build this so feel free to @flavortownusa me on Twitter if you find them and I'll update them immediately. 1. Click the map pin info window & go to the restaurant page 2. Add caching of restaurant data locally on your phone for 24 hours 2a. Added a "refresh button" on various pages to get restaurant data immediately from the cloud 3. Add an error message if you’re not connected to the internet because the app does need access to it along with your GPS location for the nearby feature 4. Search map page, zooms out 25 miles from your keyword search 5. Added icons to the List & Map tab pages 6. Nearby map page, zooms out 25 miles from your location 7. Added a button to clear all cache 8. Clicking on the search button is a bit slow, please be patient as I try to make it faster in the next version 9. Loading the map is slow, please be patient as I try to make it faster in the next version
