LAMP Words For Life® is a robust augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app that combines the power of Minspeak, the Unity® language system and Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP™) principles and strategies. LAMP is a therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning principles that addresses the language development and communication needs of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. It provides a consistent motor pattern per word so that automaticity can develop. With thousands of frequently used words pre-stored and the ability to store customized vocabulary, the app allows for unlimited language growth opportunities. With the focus on access to individual words, the communicator can put words together to express their own thoughts in a manner consistent with normal language development.
It is appropriate for anyone from beginning communicators who are just learning that they can affect those around them to skilled communicators with advanced language skills. Language development in typically developing children occurs through the combination of a consistent motor pattern, the sound that motor pattern produces, and the reaction they get from the environment. LAMP Words for Life presents vocabulary in the same manner so those language connections can be developed.
LAMP Words for Life app is symbol based for those who are not yet literate; however, those symbols are paired with text to support literacy development. The vocabulary, structure, and teaching approach are based on research and clinical experience.

This app is fine except that our settings can’t be saved so anytime our child accidentally deletes the app or changes layout we have to re-set the entire layout manually. So currently we have to take a screenshot of the current layout for these moments. Would be great if we could save our settings/layout

My son has been using this app for 3 or 4 years now. We as a family love it over all. He’s able to get his message across. Plus I’ve been able to customize it as we go. But now that it’s available for the iPhone, it will be much easier on us especially when away from home. We won’t have to carry his iPad EVERY where.

My family purchased lamp years ago. When I found out it was available for the iPhone I went to install it and it wants another $400. VERY DISAPPOINTED

You do not have to repurchase to add it to your phone. You can simply download from your "Purchased Apps" if you are using the same Apple ID. If you are using a different Apple ID, you can Family Share to the iPhone Apple account.
App is great but i took off a star cuz of the update

This is my child's output, her voice and lifeline. When i made the mistake of updating what used to be a perfectly working app I regretted it so much. I had to wait for our SLP for days before we got it functioning again. Lesson learned "If your app doesn't seem to have problems or issues, don't update it"
It’s not enough to be up to date, we are always working toward tomorrow.
