White noise and pink noise. What is the difference?
White noise is an even sound containing all frequencies at once, similar to a TV with no signal, a hair dryer, or a fan. It effectively masks sudden loud noises and resembles the sounds a baby hears in the womb.
Pink noise is softer and more natural, such as rain, wind, ocean waves, or flowing water. It better masks constant background noise like conversations or a TV in another room.
