I simply love this wellness app. As someone who has tried so many times to get into improving my wellbeing through fitness this app is truly different. My favourite thing about it is that it adjusts your activities based on your reported energy level. Often you get a plan in place but some days that is just not attainable. I like that it allows you to maintain the habit as well as gain the benefits while also listening to your body and what it needs day to day. The learning sessions are also great because it helps shift your perspective on fitness and goal setting. I wouldn’t explain this as fitness app to friends but instead a wellness app. It is not just focused on getting you in the gym but instead looks at the situation holistically and supports your well-being not just fitness goals. I definitely think wellness is more desirable than fitness :)

I was really excited for the app as I follow Julie and Camilla online and Camilla has actually helped my body image and now I view myself tremendously so I was very excited to see her app only to be disappointed when I discovered that you have to pay to even try it. Unlike most workout apps that have a free version that understandably has locked features behind a pay wall, this app doesn’t even have a free version, it’s just pay as soon as you make an account without even trying to app out. For people who don’t have the extra money for apps like this or the gym, free apps are the only thing that could work and most workout apps are just trying to show you how to get “skinnier”.

TLDR: INCREDIBLE only note is the autogenerated captions are not good so I would not recommend to an absolute beginner w/hearing problems/HOH I absolutely love the Mila app, it provides so much gentle encouragement and makes working out feel so easy! I love that it’s the real advice of a personal trainer and it’s genuinely the first app I’ve seen where an equal amount of effort is put into the mental coaching aspect of working out/personal training. I really feel like this app is one of THE best out there for getting people started working out and really almost does give the same value as having your own personal trainer..i’m sure it’s not exactly the same but it’s a VERY high quality experience. I gave it 4 stars because I noticed that the app has pretty bad auto generated captions. With an app so focused on inclusivity and accessibility this seemed like a really weird oversight to me. They are, for some videos, a bit hard to read and for some so inaccurate it’s hard to understand to the point that an absolute beginner might be risking injury. That being said, sometimes autogenerated captions works out a bit differently than expected with new launch so if this is fixed quickly i don’t doubt that anyone can benefit from this app!
