Fixed • On iPhones with iOS 26, the N5 course could freeze for several seconds when you opened it and during some lessons. The more units you had finished, the longer it froze. It now opens and runs without the wait. • For some people, the app closed when they opened the Library. This is fixed. • Some example sentences on flashcards and in the dictionary showed the wrong reading above a word, and Listen read it that way too. About 300 examples now show and read the right one. • With the Kaito voice, a few words and one kanji reading played the wrong recording. The app now downloads a small fix for them. • A word with more than one reading could play the recording of another reading (for example 人 as ひと instead of にん). It now plays the reading you see. • In Daily Journey speaking practice, Listen could read some kanji in the sentence wrong. It now reads them the way the story does.

New • Tell Kaeru your first name (optional) and your plan and reminders greet you by it. Fixed • フォーク means "fork" again, not "folk", along with 293 other cards that grabbed the wrong dictionary entry. Studied one of them? It starts fresh on the right word, so you learn what you meant to learn. • Four deck titles that looked like notes-to-self finally got real names. • In the Kaito voice, some words played another word's recording (どなた said どちら). Every word now says itself, and a Kaito voice you already downloaded gets the fix on its own. • Words you added yourself count in "To review", the app badge and reminders again, and show up in reviews. • こんな風に now reads ふう, not かぜ. Better • Your first lessons got rewritten stories and brand-new recordings in both premium voices. • The app now talks like a friend, in English, Chinese, Korean and Spanish. • Words usually written in kana now show up in kana: それから, not 其れから. • No more tracking pop-up. Just open the app and hop in.
