I noticed the app on YouTube and chose to test it. It lets my Apple iPad serve as a streamer linked directly to my Fiio K17 R2R pro DAC through USB, delivering a high-resolution, bit-perfect digital stream from Apple Music. You then pair your iPhone with the iPad using the same app. The iPhone acts as a wireless remote for the iPad streamer, allowing you to select music from the couch. The app runs smoothly, and I think the one-time cost is reasonable. To connect the iPad to the USB-C data input on my DAC while supplying power, I bought a Belkin ‘Connect’ USB-C® Data + Charge Adapter and a 240W USB-C-PD power adapter with Power Delivery technology. Without a USB-PD supply, the Belkin unit fails to work properly with the iPad. I am pleased with this app and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to use Apple’s Lossless, hi-res music with their system.

Just what I was looking for!
Bluffkarma
I’ve recently gotten into hi-fi audio, building out my system (speakers, amps, etc.) and the only thing missing was a way to stream hi-res/lossless music. Since AirPlay is lossy and having to get up every time I wanted to change the song on my iPad Pro connected to my DAC was starting to get annoying, I got a Tidal subscription and bought a WiiM Pro. This combination works great but it means I have to have a new music subscription on top on top of my existing Apple Music subscription, and it’s awkward trying to sync my two libraries for music. Then I came across this app and it’s exactly what I was looking for! I have my iPad Apple Music settings set to Hi-Res Lossless, have it connected via usb to my DAC and I can control it directly from any of my other Apple devices, no matter where I am in my house. In terms of looks, it’s honestly very close to the native Apple Music app. Still some things that can be refined but it’s 100% usable. Functionally, it’s basically all there too. Would definitely recommend if you’re also in the same (maybe niche) boat as I was! I still have my Tidal/WiiM setup right now but this app may push me to cancel/sell those.
Developer Response
Thank you for the review! I'm very happy so many hi-fi enthusiasts are using and enjoying Lysoniq. I just wanted to mention there were many UI updates included in the latest v1.2.0, when you get the chance please give it a go. :)
This minor update adds a number of bug fixes and stability improvements.
