Ask Recordus Ask a question about your own recordings and get an answer in plain language, with the recordings it came from. Tap a source to jump to that exact moment. Ask about one recording, a folder, a date range, or your whole library. It runs on Apple Intelligence and reads nothing but your own recordings. Ask is a new optional subscription with a 7 day free trial. Everything you already bought is unchanged and still included: recording, transcription, summaries, action items, search, sync, export, Shortcuts and the Watch app. Nothing has moved behind a paywall. Also in this release: search now covers summaries and improved transcripts, so words that were only in those are findable at last. Playing a long recording no longer freezes the app while its transcript highlights each word.

Minor fixes and performance improvements.

Fixed a setup bug that could hide the Get Started button on the final screen, leaving some people unable to reach the recorder at all. Fixed • The last setup screen could push Get Started off the bottom of the display with no way to scroll to it, so first launch never finished. Setup now fits every iPhone, in every language, at every text size. • Setup screens scroll when they need more room, including in landscape and at large accessibility text sizes. • Setup cards were pale and hard to read in Light Mode and with Reduce Transparency. They now sit correctly on the dark background. Improved • VoiceOver announces the Back and Next buttons and reads your place in setup, and Reduce Motion is respected across the whole flow rather than only the last screen. Nothing else changed. Transcripts you can actually read. Tap Improve and Recordus rewrites raw dictation into clean paragraphs with punctuation and no "ums" — the original is always kept. New • Improved Transcription. A polished, readable version of any transcript, made on your device. Switch between Original and Improved whenever you like; the original is never overwritten. • Editable summaries and action items. Rewrite a summary in your own words, correct a to-do the app misread, or add the ones it missed. Improved • Summaries now cover the whole recording. Long interviews and lectures were being summarized from their opening minutes only. Summaries, tags and action items now read the entire transcript, however long it runs. • Summaries tell you where they came from, so you know whether Apple Intelligence wrote one or Recordus pulled out the key sentences. Fixed • Recordings are reliably transcribed on their own again when Auto-Transcribe is on. • Several Apple Watch recordings arriving at once no longer fail to transcribe. • Pulling to refresh and then cancelling no longer reports a sync error that never happened. This release adds anonymous diagnostics and usage analytics, disclosed in the app and switchable off in Settings. Neither ever includes your audio, transcripts, titles or searches. Recordus now speaks your language everywhere. A handful of screens and dialogs still appeared in English even with the app set to another language — every one of them is now translated, across all 17 languages. Improved • Full localization pass. The library heading, the transcribing status, and the re-transcribe dialogs now read in your language instead of English. • Rating requests behave better. Recordus asks at most three times, each tied to a moment it has actually done something for you. Fixed • "All Recordings" stayed in English in all 16 translated languages. Now translated everywhere. Recordus now asks for your rating after it has actually earned it, and the listing is clearer about what runs where. Improved • Widget buttons and Siri intents reliably reach the app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. • Live Activity now shows a paused state on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. • Clearer wording about which devices run Apple Intelligence and which use built-in text analysis. Fixed • Playback controls no longer crash when a recording view is torn down mid-playback. • Transcription passes are serialized, so batches of Watch imports no longer collide.
