KNOW THE ROAD BEFORE YOU GO • Speed bumps: route previews now show how many speed bumps are mapped along your route, with dots on the map. The count comes from OpenStreetMap, where volunteers map them, so treat it as a minimum. • Fewer speed bumps (Pro): switch it on and ApexRoute picks the route option with the fewest mapped bumps, staying close to your chosen distance. • Height profiles: famous road pages show a height chart with the height range, the highest point and the steepest section. • Busy with cyclists: 30 famous roads are marked when they are popular with road cyclists, with a reminder to give riders room. • Franschhoek Pass is now marked as closed after storm damage. Our privacy policy has been updated to cover the speed-bump lookup.

NEW ROAD PACK: WINTER SUN • 10 famous roads you can drive in the winter months, from Tenerife's Masca road and Cap de Formentor to Mount Etna, Oak Creek Canyon and Clarence Drive. One is open free. RATE APEXROUTE • ApexRoute may also ask you to rate it shortly after you upgrade to Pro. It still asks only once in total, never while you are recording a drive, and you can dismiss it. CLEARER ROUTE MESSAGES • If no drivable route fits your settings, ApexRoute now says so and suggests what to change, instead of asking you to check your connection. • If you reach ApexRoute's fair-use limit for generating routes, the message now says so and tells you roughly when you can generate more.

RATE APEXROUTE • After your first proper drive, ApexRoute may ask you to rate it. It asks once, never while you are driving, and you can simply dismiss it. • Small reliability improvements to saving a finished drive.

GETTING STARTED WITH PRO • After the intro, you now see what ApexRoute Pro unlocks, including the free trial on the annual plan. Tap "Not now" to carry on with the free version. • When a plan includes a free trial, the upgrade button says so and shows the price that applies once the trial ends.

THE CONVOY MAP • The convoy route is now drawn on the Record map for the host and everyone who joins, and the camera fits the whole convoy on your first fix before following you. • Joined but not driving yet? You now see the map, the route and who is already on the road before you tap Start recording. Nothing of yours is shared until you do. • The leader gets a distinct marker and comes first in the strip, and every car carries its name on the map. • Cars glide between position updates instead of jumping. • The Join screen previews the route before you commit.

CONVOY FIXES AND A GUIDED START • Stronger convoy privacy. The code that protects your convoy is now put through a much harder key-derivation step, so the relay that forwards your positions and voice cannot work backwards to your convoy code. Everyone in a convoy must be on this version or later. • Your position on the route is now tracked correctly on out-and-back drives. Previously the strip could flip between showing a car as beside you and far ahead, because both legs of the road matched equally well. • Drivers who leave a convoy now disappear from it straight away, instead of lingering and sometimes reappearing as a nameless entry after a patch of no signal. • Recording no longer asks iOS for background location permission it never uses. • New: a short tip the first time you open each screen, and a "Your first drive" checklist that walks you from your first route through to seeing the drive in your timeline. Both stop on their own, and "Show tips again" in Settings brings them back.

FIXES • Convoy and Convoy Voice now actually work. A packaging fault in the previous two releases meant the app shipped without its relay settings, so "Start a Convoy" always reported that live convoy was switched off. Nothing was wrong with the feature itself. • Push-to-talk always stops the moment you let go. A quick tap could previously leave the microphone open until the 30-second cutoff. • Photos and videos attached to your drives no longer disappear after an app update, and any that vanished in a previous update come back. • Elevation is measured properly instead of counting GPS noise, so climb figures on a drive and in your totals are realistic. • A single bad GPS fix can no longer add distance that never happened or set an impossible top-speed record. • Free recordings now count driving time rather than time parked. • Convoy voice recovers correctly after a dead zone instead of getting stuck on "Reconnecting". • Sharing a long recorded drive now produces a link that always opens. • Apple Maps gets the whole loop instead of a few metres between its start and finish. • A route is no longer generated from a default location on the other side of the world when your position is unavailable. • Pro is no longer lost in rare cases involving Restore Purchases or a lifetime unlock alongside a subscription.

NEW — CONVOY (BETA) • Start a Convoy from any saved route, recorded drive or preview. Friends who join with the code see each other on the Record map while driving, with how far ahead or behind each car is along the road. • Private by design: positions are encrypted on your phone with a key made from the convoy code, shared only while you are recording, and never stored. No accounts, no profiles. • Join by tapping an invite link, or by typing the code under Record › Join a convoy. • Convoy voice (beta): a push-to-talk button on the Record map, or your car's play/pause button, so the convoy can talk without leaving the map. Off by default; end-to-end encrypted; nothing recorded. Rolling out gradually. FROM 1.5.2 • Share, Start a Convoy and Export GPX (Pro) on saved routes and recorded drives, and a Google Maps link in every share.

NEW • Share from your Library. Saved routes and recorded drives now have Share, Start a Convoy and Export GPX (Pro) in the top-right menu. Previously only the route preview had them. • Google Maps link in every share. Anyone you send a route to can open it in Google Maps with one tap, no app needed. • Start a Convoy. Sends the route to your group chat with a note on following each other using Google Maps' own location sharing. IMPROVED • The Library's import button has a clearer icon.

FIXED • Record now works on iPhone. A build configuration fault meant Record could reject location permission without ever asking iOS for it, so the "Location permission is required" message appeared no matter what you changed in Settings, and reinstalling did not help. Recording, and the camera prompt during setup, now ask properly and work as intended. If you already allowed location for route generation, Record will simply work after updating — you will not be asked again.

50 famous roads, and a Scenic Route toggle that genuinely changes the route. THE ROAD BOOK Fifty famous driving roads in five packs — UK & Ireland, The Alps, Europe, North America and Around the World. Every road carries its region, approximate length, character tags and a description, and "Plan a route on this road" drops its endpoints straight into the generator. Browsing the list and reading the names is free for everyone; five roads open free, one per pack, and the other 45 come with Pro. START ANYWHERE, FINISH ANYWHERE A route no longer has to start where you are standing. Pick any address or a point on the map as the start, add a finish for an A-to-B run, or leave it out for a loop. Free — and with a start you have chosen yourself, ApexRoute never asks for your location at all. SCENIC ROUTE The scenic preference is back on the generator, and this time it does something: with it switched on, ApexRoute looks for viewpoints and scenic roads near your route and steers the waypoints toward them. Free. YOUR DRIVING, ADDED UP A new stats screen on the Timeline tab. Lifetime distance, drives and time are free; personal records, month-by-month breakdowns and year summaries come with Pro. SEND A ROUTE AS A LINK A shared route now travels inside its own link — the shape, the name, the distance and the time. Tap it and the drive opens in ApexRoute with a map and Save to Library. No account, no sign-in, nothing uploaded. LIVE ACTIVITY WHILE YOU RECORD On iPhone, an active drive shows elapsed time, distance and speed on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and clears itself when you stop (iOS 16.2 and later). GPX IMPORT Bring a GPX file in as a saved route, alongside the GPX export that has been here since day one. Both are Pro. ALSO • Sharing a route now attaches a branded ApexRoute card with the route line and its stats FIXED • Cancelling a purchase no longer says "Welcome to ApexRoute Pro", and Restore now tells you honestly when there is nothing to restore • "Rate ApexRoute" opens the App Store listing — it quietly did nothing before • Route generation now recovers from a malformed reply from the routing service instead of failing outright

Record with your screen locked. Drive recording now keeps running when you lock your phone or switch to another navigation app. The trace stays continuous from start to stop, and iOS shows the blue location indicator for as long as a recording is active. More free routes: you now get 3 route generations a day, up from 1. Also new • Map view selector: normal, satellite, terrain, or hybrid • Choose your GPS sampling rate — 1, 2, 3, or 5 seconds (Pro) • A short tour the first time you open the app • Dark map on the drive recorder • Your km/miles choice now applies to every screen • Clearer empty and error states, plus haptic feedback Fixed • Time spent paused is no longer counted in your drive stats • Delete All Data now removes captured photos and videos too, not just the records • A GPS dropout mid-drive no longer ends the recording — it recovers and keeps your trace
