Baba - All Things Ukraine
News, Culture and Religion
$2.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
News from Ukraine, Ukrainian radio, podcasts and daily prayer in one calm app. Simple mode keeps the buttons and text big.
Baba is the Ukrainian diaspora super-app — a single, dignified place to read the news, follow the war, celebrate faith, discover culture, and listen to Ukrainian voices, in Ukrainian or English. No ads. Just the information you care about.
BUILT FOR SENIORS, LOVED BY ALL
Baba works on iPhone and iPad with five simple tabs: Today, News, Listen, Church and More. Text follows your device's text size, and Baba's own size slider, high contrast mode and adjustable line spacing ensure every member of the family reads comfortably.
NEWS & POLITICS
Read the latest from 35+ trusted outlets — Ukrainska Pravda, The Kyiv Independent, Ukrinform, Euromaidan Press, and more — in Ukrainian or English. Filter by source and category. Open any article in full with one tap.
The Politics section goes deeper: a government officials roster across all eight branches, a Rada faction chart with proportional seat visualization, and official statements from Kyiv.
WAR
A live frontline map powered by DeepState data shows occupied territory updated in near real-time. The day counter marks every day since the full-scale invasion. Air raid alerts display active warnings across all 25 Ukrainian oblasts, updated live.
CHURCH
Built for Orthodox Christians in the diaspora. Daily prayer, Pascha countdown, fasting guidance, saints of the day, liturgical tone, and Scripture readings with saint stories — powered by the Orthocal API. The Media tab streams live Orthodox church services and diaspora parish channels with real-time ON AIR status. The Bible browser includes the full KJV and Ivan Ohiienko Ukrainian translation with beautiful typesetting, chapter navigation, and reading progress saved per book.
CULTURE
A weekly featured Ukrainian historical figure. A monthly craft spotlight with UNESCO heritage notes. On-this-day events from Ukrainian history. Daily proverbs with transliterations and English equivalents. Upcoming holidays and a curated culture news feed.
PODCASTS
96 curated Ukrainian and English-language shows across news, war, politics, culture, and faith. Full in-app player with variable speed (0.8–2×), skip controls, lock screen integration, and a persistent mini-player bar.
RADIO
25+ live stations — news and talk, Ukrainian music, Armed Forces Radio, faith radio, and diaspora broadcasts. Live track metadata, sleep timer, AirPlay support, and category filters included.
SEARCH & SAVE
Search all content with smart, language-aware suggestions. Bookmark any article for offline reading — full text and images stored on your device.
PRIVACY FIRST
