Macroline: GLP-1 Food Tracker
Shots, Protein & Calorie Diary
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
See where every number comes from: USDA, the manufacturer, or an estimate that says so. Scanning is free. No streaks, no guilt.
Macroline is a calorie and macro tracker that shows where every number comes from. Each food carries its source: USDA, the manufacturer, the restaurant, the Open Food Facts community, or an estimate that says it is one. Type what you ate, scan a barcode, or search, and see what's left for the day at a glance.
KNOW WHERE YOUR NUMBERS COME FROM
Every food shows a source badge. Tap the badge to see exactly where the numbers came from. We never pass a guess off as a fact: an AI estimate is always labeled as one, and you can always adjust it.
LOG WITHOUT THE BURDEN
- Describe: type "grilled chicken with brown rice and broccoli" and Macroline turns it into logged entries, each with its source. No ten-tap forms.
- Scan: point your camera at any barcode. We match it against USDA, Open Food Facts, and our own catalog. Scanning is free.
- Search: type-ahead with brand, alias, and fuzzy matching.
- Recents, favorites, and saved meals: you eat the same foods on repeat. Re-log your usuals, or a whole meal, in a couple of taps.
HIT YOUR PROTEIN
Set a protein target with the built-in calculator and track toward it every day. (It is a starting point, adjust it with your dietitian.)
GLP-1 AND WEIGHT-LOSS MEDICATION TRACKING
Track semaglutide, tirzepatide, naltrexone-bupropion, phentermine, and more. See your dose-in-system over time, log side effects, and watch how it lines up with your week. (Macroline does not provide medical advice.)
YOUR BODY LOG
Bathroom breaks, how you feel, supplements, and your cycle, one tap each, right alongside your meals. Turn on only the sections you want.
WEIGHT TRENDS, NOT DAILY NOISE
Sync your weight with Apple Health and watch the trend over weeks instead of obsessing over the daily number.
CONNECT YOUR AI ASSISTANT
Macroline ships with an MCP server, so you can connect Claude or other AI tools to log meals, query your diary, and ask "how much protein have I had this week?" straight from your assistant.
USE IT ANYWHERE
Macroline also runs in your browser at my.macroline.app, so your diary follows you across your devices.
NO DIET SHAME
No streak pressure. No fasting nudges. No "you ate too much" messages. Tracking is for awareness. What you do with it is up to you.

more Steps and workout minutes from Apple Health: turn on Import steps and workout minutes in More > Apple Health, and Today's Exercise tile shows your daily steps and workout minutes. They never change your calorie goal.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
1.10.10 1d ago
Log compounded shots in units. With your vial on file, Log dose starts on units and shows the mg for what you drew. Tap a logged shot to correct its units, and the mg follows.
The injection-site map now has 14 sites: the abdomen in two rows of three, and three spots on each thigh (upper, outer and inner).
Body composition from Apple Health: turn on Import body composition in More > Apple Health to bring in body fat % and lean body mass alongside your weight.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
1.10.9 3d ago
Choose what Today shows: hide the cards you don't use and move the ones you check most to the top. Tap Edit Today at the bottom of Today, or open it from Settings. Cards you hide on your phone stay hidden on my.macroline.app too.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
1.10.8 5d ago
Protein first for GLP-1 users: if you track a GLP-1 medication, Today now opens with protein instead of calories. It shows how much protein is left to your goal, your protein floor once you've added your weight, and your fiber. Calories sit one row down and still turn red if you go over. Past your protein goal, Today says Goal met.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
1.10.7 6d ago
Fiber on Today: see your daily fiber next to protein, carbs and fat. Foods that don't list fiber are named, so you know when the total may be low. Set your own fiber goal under More > Goals.
Import weight from Apple Health: weigh-ins from your scale or other apps can now come into Macroline. Turn it on under More > Apple Health.
Change your medication schedule without re-adding it: open the medication and edit its day and time. Times now show AM and PM.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
1.10.6 Oct 3
See every weigh-in in one list, and edit or delete any of them: open History and tap Entries, or tap your weight in the Diary.
Describe a meal out loud: tap Say it in Describe and speak.
Setting up GLP-1 tracking now ends by showing how much protein to aim for each day, based on your weight.
Connect AI assistant lists the apps you've connected, and you can disconnect any of them.
Search and opening the app are faster.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
1.10.5 Oct 3
Connecting Macroline to Claude is simpler and safer: add the connector in Claude, paste Macroline's address, and sign in on Macroline's own page. There's nothing to copy into a chat.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
1.10.4 Sep 27
The injection-site map is redrawn: a real body instead of a rough sketch, and twelve places to mark instead of eight, including the sides of your abdomen and upper or lower on each thigh.
You can now set the name the app calls you, under Profile in More. Leave it empty and it goes back to your email address.
Weight after your shots is now grouped by area (abdomen, thigh, upper arm) so the numbers have enough doses behind them to mean something.
1.10.3 Sep 26
Macroline has a new name on the App Store: Macroline: GLP-1 Food Tracker. Same app, same account, same data.
New: when you step up a dose or start a new vial, change the medication's dose and vial from its menu instead of removing it and adding it again. Doses you already logged keep their amounts.
This update also helps us see which ways of adding food people use and where they get stuck, so we can make logging faster.
1.10.2 Sep 24
New in this version:
- Log injectable doses in syringe units. Macroline shows the math, for example 50 units = 0.5 mL at 10 mg/mL = 5 mg.
- Record where each injection went on a body map, read what your medication's FDA label says about injection sites, and see your weight change by site.
- One unit setting for your whole account: pounds and feet, or kilograms and centimeters, everywhere in the app and on the web. Neck, waist and hip measurements can now be entered in inches.
- Scan a supplement's barcode to add it.
Fixes: adding a compounded medication, scrolling in Body & Lifestyle, saving your profile, the back arrow on Body, minutes that showed as a single digit, error messages that showed codes instead of sentences, and a smoother pull-to-refresh.
1.10.1 Sep 24
Fixed the reminder prompt not appearing for people who skipped the setup steps. If you never got asked about daily reminders, Macroline will offer once now - one gentle nudge at 8 PM, or dismiss it and it won't ask again.
1.9.5 Sep 21
Fixed the medication list sometimes showing "Last dose: -1d ago". A dose logged for later today now reads Today, and one from late last night reads Yesterday.
1.9.4 Sep 20
A gentler way to remember.
- Setting up Macroline now offers you one evening reminder, at 8:00 PM, to log your day. No streaks, no guilt, no counting how many days you missed. Change the time or turn it off in Settings whenever you like, and skipping it changes nothing else.
- Under the hood: Macroline now counts which setup screens people reach and how many results a search returned, so we can see where getting started goes wrong and fix it. Counts only - never your search terms, never your food names, no third-party trackers, and never used for advertising.

1.9.3 Sep 5
Your body keeps a record now, not just your plate.
Body log - a new tile on Today: supplements, bathroom break, how I feel, and (if you turn it on) cycle. One tap to log; details are optional.
Bathroom break - poop and pee in one place. "Went today" or "Didn't go", with optional type, amount, ease and a note; a Pee tab with a colour chart and today's count. Days since your last, plus a gentle pattern from your own fiber, water and dose history when there's enough data. A record for you and your doctor - never a diagnosis.
Supplements, first-class - vitamin D, magnesium, fiber, protein, electrolytes and more, with the right units (IU, mcg, mg, scoops) and up to three daily times. A daily checklist shows what's taken and what's left.
How I feel - nausea, reflux, bloating, burps, fatigue, or "feeling fine", once per day, so side effects and shot days line up in History.
Cycle - mark period days and flow if you like. Dates only; Macroline doesn't predict cycles or fertility. Period days shade your weight chart so the scale makes sense that week.
A cleaner Today - the calorie ring is gone. You see what you ate, your goal and what's left in plain numbers, and macros read "left / eaten / total". Every card shares one calm style.
Names the way you'd write them - "Vanilla Milkshake (Nyrri)", not lowercase database strings.
Morning brief moved to a real notification you can act on from the lock screen; nothing pops up inside the app.
The Meds tab is now Body - medications, supplements and your daily record in one place.
Your Body log is private, yours to export or delete, and never used for advertising.

Your data starts coaching you back — and mornings got a lot faster.
• Coach — see the calorie burn rate your own logs prove, and get a weekly target tuned to how your weight actually moves. No formulas pretending to know your metabolism. (Pro, 7-day free trial)
• Your week — a Sunday-to-Sunday recap: days logged, weight change, protein consistency, your discovery of the week. Share it if you're proud of it.
• Same as yesterday? — one tap replays yesterday's meals into today. And the Diary now shows Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks on every day, even before you've logged anything, so "Copy from yesterday" is right there for each meal.
• Shot-day awareness — on GLP-1 dose days, Today gently reframes: appetite often runs lighter, protein comes first.
• "Your week is ready" notifications, and smarter reminders that only ask once.
• Easier to read — bigger food names in the Diary, the full name in the detail sheet, and search results that show serving size and protein at a glance so you're never comparing calories across different portions.
• Calmer board — morning notices are light toasts now instead of cards, nothing hides behind the add bar, and a fresh week reads "log once to start" instead of 0/7.
• Food database — hundreds of new restaurant items with honest source labels, cleaner USDA names, and a round of accuracy fixes.
• Under the hood — the Diary loads once instead of refreshing in a loop: faster, easier on your battery, and today's exercise shows up reliably.

• Log in real units (grams, oz, cups), not just servings.

• Medication tracking you can turn on for GLP-1 support.
• Opens instantly with no flicker, and a much larger food database.
1.5.3 Jun 18
We rebuilt Macroline's home screen from the ground up.
NEW BENTO HOME
A clean, modular layout that puts your whole day at a glance: calories, macros, protein, your recent foods, and your weight trend, all in one place. Less tapping around, more just seeing where you stand.
Also in this update:
- Faster, smoother logging from the moment you open the app
- Visual polish across the app
- Bug fixes and stability improvements
As always: every food still shows where its data came from, and there is no streak pressure or diet shame here.
Found a bug or have an idea? Email info@macroline.app, we read everything.
1.5.2 Jun 8
History got a real redesign.
Your average calories and weight headline each range card now, with the change versus the prior period at a glance. Two new ranges added: 1 year and All-time, alongside 7, 30, and 90 days. The chart picked up Y-axis labels, gridlines, a dashed calorie goal line, and a Weekly or Monthly average chip when the range is long enough that daily bars would get noisy. The weight chart now has a regression trend line so you can see direction without staring at noise. New Streak tile shows your consecutive days logged. And the weight chart finally listens to the 7, 30, and 90 day buttons (it used to ignore them).
Quick-add is way faster.
Tap the + button on the Diary screen and your most recently logged foods appear immediately. Frequent foods float to the top automatically. A small "N times" chip shows how often you've logged a food before. Re-logging is one tap.
Source links actually open now.
Tap "Open Food Facts" on any sourced food and it hands off to Safari like it should. A real provenance app should let you see the source, and now this one actually does.
Barcode scanner upgrades.
Higher resolution capture and continuous autofocus mean short, dense barcodes decode reliably. Scan upside down, at any rotation, and standard UPC and EAN codes lock faster.

Macroline 1.3.3:
BRAND-NEW LOOK
The app now defaults to "Macroline Bright" - a warm, light theme matching our website (we were navy/blue before). New app icon too. Please tell us how the bright theme feels in daylight and at night. You can switch themes under More, then Appearance.
GLP-1 SUPPORT (Mounjaro / Zepbound / Ozempic / Wegovy users)
Brand new. Add your medication under the Meds tab to see:
- A "dose in system" estimate plus schedule
- A protein floor on your goals (protein protects muscle while a GLP-1 curbs appetite)
- Optional symptom logging and tolerance tags on foods
If you are on a GLP-1, add yours and check the dose card and protein guidance. Reminder: this is for awareness, not medical advice.
LIFESTYLE GOALS CALCULATOR
Under More, then Goals, then Lifestyle: enter height/age/activity and it estimates your calorie and macro targets, showing the full math. Run the calculator and confirm the header and inputs look right on your device.
REBUILT BARCODE SCANNER
Completely rewritten. Tap the plus button, then Scan. You now get a proper overlay with a Cancel button, flashlight, and an "Enter barcode manually" fallback. PLEASE TEST: scan a few real grocery barcodes and confirm they are detected and pull up the right food. (This was just fixed - your feedback here is most valuable.)
DESCRIBE A MEAL
Tap the plus button, then Describe: type a meal in plain English ("chicken bowl with rice and guac") and the AI logs it. Confirm the calorie and macro totals look reasonable, not wildly off.
POLISH
Every pop-up sheet (log water, weight, exercise, food details) was rebuilt to be consistent and keyboard-friendly. The Lifestyle screen no longer tucks under the status bar.
Known issue: occasionally Describe or Search matches a close-but-not-exact food - just tap to pick the right one. Flag anything that looks wrong!
1.3 May 28
Steps and workout minutes from Apple Health: turn on Import steps and workout minutes in More > Apple Health, and Today's Exercise tile shows your daily steps and workout minutes. They never change your calorie goal.
Plus small fixes and improvements.
