Latent is a focus camera. Press record and it films an effortless timelapse of you doing your work, studying, building, practicing, then condenses it to about ten seconds. Tag the session, and it becomes a number. The number becomes a streak. The streak becomes a body of evidence that you showed up, again and again, when nobody made you.
Most of what you do is invisible. The hours at the desk, the reps no one counts. And what's invisible starts to feel like it doesn't count. Latent makes your effort visible, first to the one person who has to believe it: you.
THE FOCUS CAMERA
- Press record and get to work. Latent films a battery- and storage-friendly timelapse of you while the app is open. Leave the app and the recording pauses.
- Stopwatch, goal timer, or full Pomodoro with focus/break rounds.
- Camera-off mode turns Latent into a pure focus timer. No camera, just the clock.

This is such a good app to use when studying. It really helps you focus. I just wish the timer could run in the background without pausing and waiting for you to come back to the app. It would be very helpful when working on other apps when the timer is going. I can however see how that might not work as people can use go on social app, but you should add something to where if someone wants to the timer to run in the background without pausing you should put a limit to what apps the timer will allow to run in the background. Anyways amazing app, will continue to use.

- Songs on posts. Pick a song and the part you want, it plays in the feed
- Tag people in your posts and @mention friends in captions, comments and chats. You get notified when someone mentions you
- New edit tools: rotate, blur and draw on your post
- Messages and comments open way faster and feel like Instagram
- Big group chats open at the bottom and load older messages as you scroll
- Group chats with 1 friend can turn into a Group
- Camera off: new tips the first time you use it
- No notification banners while you're recording
- New posts start on the same audience as your last one
- Lots of freeze and crash fixes, especially if you have a lot of friends
