a big update, after a long time without a new version. what's new the whole app has been redrawn to finally look like what it says it is: a real pixel font on titles, tabs and counters, raised windows instead of flat ones, sunken input fields, the active tab pressed in like a button, and a light panel effect over the screen, like a liquid crystal handheld. the screen effect can be turned off in settings if you prefer a perfectly clean image. japanese particles now have their own learning path, on a new cartridge switch screen: one tap to go from vocabulary to grammar. the rakugaki bridge: words made entirely of kanji you already know how to write are surfaced first, to learn the vocabulary for what you can already write. your own words, including bulk import from a CSV file (perapera Plus), sorted into your own categories. in the mini-games, you can now choose which words to play with: new ones, your most missed, or random. fixes an old bug badly merged words that exist in two forms, with and without する (like 勉強 and 勉強する): the broken entries this left behind are now repaired. missing a word you already knew well now drops it two tiers instead of one, to stay true to spaced repetition. the daily streak counted wrong around midnight, fixed. duplicate entries created by syncing between devices now merge automatically, keeping the more advanced progress of the two. "i already know this" now sends a word straight to the last tier instead of a middle one. over a hundred french translations reviewed, including several outright wrong ones. the entire dictionary was checked against a japanese reference: あちら said "this way" instead of "over there", すれちがい promised a chance meeting when the word means the exact opposite, そこら was given as "everywhere". a truncated duplicate and a typo were removed, and around twenty entries whose english translation was cut in the middle of a parenthesis are repaired. this word-by-word review is now complete for the N5, N4 and N3 levels: 157 corrections across the 783 N5 words, 151 across the 718 N4 words, and 222 across the 2507 N3 words. the N2 and N1 levels will get the same treatment in an upcoming update. reported issues now actually leave the phone instead of staying stuck locally.
