In Quebec, the rest of Canada and France, in English and French. Photograph the cats on your street, and be there the day one of them goes missing.
Minou is the notebook of your neighbourhood's cats, and the alert network for the day one of them goes missing.
THE NOTEBOOK
You come across a cat in the street and take a picture. It joins the neighbourhood map and your personal Dex. Every time someone spots it again, you learn a little more about it: its territory, its hours, the neighbours who know it.
THE NETWORK
The day a cat goes missing, its owner doesn't open an empty app. They open weeks of sightings built by the whole neighbourhood, and start an alert in one tap, which can notify the neighbours who turned on alerts.
YOUR CAT JUST WENT MISSING?
Add them from a photo in your gallery, then start the alert right away.
NOBODY GETS TRACKED
A real-time map of cats is also a map of the habits of the people who live there. So positions are deliberately rounded to about a hundred metres, published with a 45-minute delay, and a cat's territory is visible only to its owner. The exact position only appears if an owner reports their cat missing, and only by their own decision. The alert notification gives neither the cat's name, nor where it is, nor the owner's phone number.
The recognition that checks there's really a cat in the photo, the one that refuses a photo where a person can be recognised, and the decency filter all run on your phone, offline. No ads, no ad trackers, no selling of data.
IN QUEBEC, CANADA AND FRANCE
Montreal and its boroughs, Quebec City, Lévis, Gatineau, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Saguenay and municipalities right down to the villages, the rest of Canada and France: everyone picks their area. The cats come from the people who photograph them, and the map is filling up in Montreal first.
IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH
The app follows your phone's language, or the one you pick in Profile.
FREE
Alerts work for everyone. There's no hidden paid version, and a donation gives no advantage in the app.
- A lost cat alert can now notify neighbours who turned on alerts.
- Minou speaks English: the app follows your phone's language, or the one you pick in Profile.
- A button in Profile to turn off alerts.
- After a few photos, Minou may ask what you think of it, at most once every four months.
- Stronger privacy: positions shown are rounded to about a hundred metres, and your phone number is erased when the alert ends.
