The legendary iMtG is back with User Guide...
The legendary iMtG is back as probably the most advanced and innovative Magic: the Gathering toolbox and rules reference app in the App Store of 2026.
Since 2011 our Life Counter tool supports portrait and landscape modes. It has up to 24 seats multiplayer mode, Commander damage tracking and separate poison counters for 2-Headed Giant team. Multiple iMtG Life Counters can be linked and synchronised over Bluetooth nearby networking.
Deck Builder includes sample play / fish tool, mana statistics, export by Email and sharing via Share Sheet. You can use Import from iTunes or Dropbox to upgrade from other MTG deck builders which support .dec file format.
Card Database has up to date pricing and advanced collection management. You can set how many you need, own and want to trade of each card. It will add the card to the appropriate report in the Main Menu. As soon as a new expansion is released, you can update your database in Main Menu -> Settings & Tools -> Tools.
Magic Binders are digital model of your physical binders, allowing you to keep your collection data always with you, on the move and in the net. Mark your cards as foils, signed, set condition and language version, make notes. Post your collection's trading part online with a press of a button as Private Page on Gathering. Email binders to friends or yourself with CSV file attachment.
Gathering is our independent community forum ruled by Ultimate Law and linked to Multiverse.
Multiverse is a geolocation feature which allows you to manually update your trading position on Earth map. Multiverse does not track your location continuously, you set your base once and update it when and if you desire.
Free Trade module contains quick Price Check and Trading tool integrated with Needed and Trade Binder.
Settings can be adjusted for the local market to display prices in local currency while multiplied by configurable factor. Trading is integrated with Potential Trades, an automatic trade matching system for Gathering users.
While iMtG is mostly free, in the built-in Shop you can pay to unlock optional functionality. Offline cache enables foil prices, mass update tool and background price fetching on card lists. You can also unlock unlimited decks maintenance and add handy Clone function to test different versions of the same deck, in-app access to card rulings, unlimited scanning, unlimited binders, advanced trading functions and card translations.
Please note the Support and Feedback option, the use of which I greatly appreciate.

more I overall find this app to b top notch and bought all in app and even donated to server. Shortly after ixalan came out every time i try to filter my search it kicks me from the app, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling and also trying imtg+ all with same results i hope to have this resolved because i do like the app and would hate to have to find a new one

This app allows for me to browse through my cards on the fly instead of making eye contact with people in awkward social situations. It's like my best friends all packed into a cuddly little powerhouse of an app. If you want to be a real wizard you must download this, it's like having a full sized staff and a cloak in my pocket. Better than mom's meatloaf.

This just stoops all over the competition, star city's app pales in comparison and the official WotC release is a total joke, if you play magic this is the only app worth getting! And the price is unbeatable! Compare to star city's 5.99 after download cost, just so you can see what is free on their site! As well as the WotC app that wants 4.99 for EVERY expansion that comes out!! That's 4 times a year!! This app does everything and more in addition to being fan made! So props to the little guy and props to imtg! Your the best!

8.1.1 Mar 26
This is the coming back to life version after AAPL has become too onerous to work with without AGI involvement.
Here's what's new or refreshed:
Card Database Rebuilt
The entire card database engine has been rewritten. Cards are now sourced from Scryfall with automatic bulk import. Search is faster, data is fresher, and the database updates independently of app releases.
Comprehensive Rules and Glossary are downloaded directly from Wizards of the Coast.
Dropbox Integration
Browse your Dropbox folders directly from the app. Import deck files (.dec, .csv, .imtgdeck) by browsing and tapping. Backup and restore your decks and binders to Dropbox using a modern OAuth2 connection.
Card Scanner Upgraded
The scanner now uses Apple Vision for on-device text recognition. Faster, more accurate, and no longer depends on external OCR libraries.
Dark Mode
The app automatically matches your iOS dark mode setting on first launch. Multiple themes remain available in Settings.
Bookmarks
Card Database bookmarks (In Collection, Not In Collection, In Decks, Not In Decks, Non-basic Lands) work with the new database engine.
Gathering Forum
Modernized the in-app forum browser. Fixed threading issues, improved URL handling, and external links open properly in Safari.
Binder & Deck Improvements
Binder price totals now use current Scryfall pricing. Deck import from Dropbox and clipboard is more reliable. Expansion icons download automatically in the background.
Stability
Fixed crashes in: main menu reset, deck deletion, binder restoration, Dropbox restore, card scanning, and large database imports. The app now handles low-memory devices gracefully during database updates.
Shake Menu
Shake the device on the main menu to enter edit mode. Drag and drop to rearrange your menu. Shake again to save.
Accessibility
VoiceOver support and accessibility identifiers added throughout the app.
Foundations
Migrated from Core Data to SQLite, removed legacy dependencies, adopted UIScene lifecycle, and updated all network calls to HTTPS.
