JPLAY requires an active subscription to access its content and features. Sign up for a JPLAY subscription in the app. New users can enjoy a 14-day free trial period that will be automatically converted into a yearly subscription. Subscription is automatically renewed and charged on a yearly basis. You can cancel it at any time up until the day before renewal and you can at any time turn off the auto renewal.

Ratings and Reviews
No 14 day trial
When I downloaded the app, I was asked to pay the yearly subscription upfront. I was given no choice for 14 day trial after four days of playing around with it. I could only get it to output audio on my iPhone, J play was unable to find any of the end points and I have five of them in my system as UPnP devices. Strange how another music player had no problems locating the devices within a minute. And yes, I had the latest Minimserver installed and running.

there is a 2-week free trial period. You have to subscribe to be able to use the app, but you WON'T be charged during 14-day free trial period. You can cancel the subscription at any moment during the 14-day trial period if you do not wish to pay for the yearly subscription.
Regarding the issue: please make sure the app has rights to find devices on the network. At any time, you can allow or revoke an app's access to the local network: In Settings, go to Privacy & Security* > Local Network to see a list of every app that requested access. JPLAY requires this access. If the issue persists, please contact us via email: contact@jplay.app
Works
I tried it, and found it a bit on the “ bright” side, and it is not my system either that is causing this.
Also am not fond of a yearly fee. I would prefer to purchase it outright.
It works well though.
Flaws with Synology and Plex servers
I have local music on a Synology NAS, and when using either the Plex or Synology package as a DLNA server, this app fails to handle metadata and embedded art correctly. There’s no online manual either. Emailed support, got no answer. Sound quality is not one iota better than Qobuz over AirPlay either. Avoid!!
