A decent app for setting up, attending and following events. Would like to see an iPad version so that sharing and viewing photos is much easier. And they’ve now added granular notification options per group.

Wow this app had such promise. There’s so much to do! Wait! Here’s ten more things to do! Here’s fifty notifications a day! Isn’t this great? Here’s some emails to remind you about the notifications. Nah I’d much rather use Facebook for what this app offers. One extra star for looking nice.

Meetup has been charging organizers higher and higher fees while stripping functionality from their apps (like taking attendance). The company won’t let us suspend our subscriptions when we can’t safely run meetups due to COVID-19, and the only alternative is to delete the group. This app and the lack of support it gets makes it clear Meetup doesn’t care about its users. Done with this app and Meetup as a whole.

…now it’s just a money pinching service. They’ve locked down this app so much that you can’t even see who’s attending an event unless you pay. They’ve locked it down so much, they should rename or rebrand this as a dating app 😂
