Super apartment and stellar host!
La Casa de la pescatore is a charming apartment located just off a charming piazza near to the main walkway towards San Marco. Several good restaurants steps away. Also a good bakery. Tommaso is a stellar host. He met us at the water taxi and guided us to the apartment and pointed out highlights as we walked. Please ask about the private night tour of Venice! It is a night we will never forget. Tommaso is a knowledgeable host and pays attention to detail. Due to his kind efforts, our trip to Venice was superb! We will always have fond memories of beautiful Venice, again thanks to Tomasso. Thanks also to his brother Jack who carefully navigated the boat through the canals making for a lovely and special boat tour. Thanks again! From Robert Manderson and Lee Easton.
Problematic for hosts.
I am a host in Toronto.
The fees are REALLY high to use as a host. I kept getting guests from France, and only France, for some reason. They would file bogus complaints with the app, and I would have to offer discounts to get paid. If a guest files a complaint, no matter how insignificant, you have to come to an agreement with the guest to get paid. The thing is - CUSTOMER SERVICE NEVER CONTACTS YOU. you have to chase them down and force them to deal with it. Then payment is delayed up to a week. I found the customer service area VERY slow and you have to keep them on track and fix any problems that arise. They really just act as a conduit for money. It’s also a slower traffic rate than more popular apps, and difficult to charge a reasonable rate. It doesn’t require a license (city of Toronto requires this to use Airbnb) so that’s really the only bonus.
Very frustrated with customer service.
I would not recommended this app to anyone. I’ve been charged a service fee for a booking that was cancelled immediately. And on top of that the app doesn’t show any info on what that charge is for or what refund has been processed. I’m still seeing a charge in my account that customer service hasn’t explained. So buyer beware. If you have extra money that you don’t mind giving away then use this app. Otherwise use other trusted apps. Never going to use this app again and never giving them my business.
